Polperro Family History
Polperro is a genealogist's dream. Because of its isolated situation, the indigenous families living within the two parishes, Talland and Lansallos, tended to inter-marry among themselves until the 19th century thus making it easier for family historians to trace their Polperro ancestors. A remarkable record of over 50 Polperro family pedigrees was compiled at the beginning of the 20th century by local historian Frank Perrycoste. With the standard of event we wish to stage we did not allow ourselves sufficient time to book the acts required, and make the necessary arrangements. We have now agreed on definite dates in 2009.
