Sunday, February 22, 2009. Preparation Time: 10 mins. Cooking Time: 20 mins. Region: Tamil Nadu, India. Rice – 1 cup uncooked. Yogurt/Curd – 1 cup. Chenna Dhal – 1 tsp. Ginger – a small piece minced. Curry leaves – 1 spring. Mustard - ¼ tsp. Water – little. Salt – as required. Ghee – ¼ tsp. Oil – 1 tsp. Cook the rice with ghee and salt. Once it is cooled, separate them with out any lumps. Or you can even use the left over rice. Blend the curd well with little water and keep it aside.

Lightly Grease and Flour 9 in. x 13 in. Baking Dish. Place all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Mix them together. Pace all the liquid ingredients in another bowl and mix them well. Slowly add the dry mixture to the liquid bowl. Pour into Greased and Floured Baking Dish.

Red chilli powder – 1 tsp. Coriander powder – ¼ tsp. Salt - as required. In a vessel add water, little salt and potato (skin removed and cut into cubes). After it is cooked. Remove water and keep aside. In a pan add oil and then add mustard, urad dhal, chenna dhal and allow it to splutter. Add the cooked potato and mix it well.

Curry leaves (half a spring). 1 ½ cups rice. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Once oil is heated, Add mustard seeds, fennel seeds, curry leaves. Crush the tomatoes by hand and add it to the pan.
