Chocolate Guinness cake | Project Pastry

https://projectpastry.wordpress.com/2015/10/31/chocolate-guinness-cake

The path to perfect pastry. October 31, 2015. October 31, 2015. I was always going to love this combination because I’m a huge Guinness and ale fan. It may sound a bit odd, but the Guinness provides extra depth of flavour and also moistens the cake. You can’t taste the beer as such, but there is certainly something a bit different to the usual chocolate base cake. I topped mine with cream cheese icing to provide a bit of tartness, but also love the fact that it resembles a frothy pint of Guinness. Pour t...

The path to perfect pastry. Red velvet swirl cake. October 25, 2015. October 25, 2015. Red velvet swirl cake. I’ve been playing around with a few basic cake recipes lately, so wanted to have a go at a swirl cake. You can use two types of cake batter e.g. chocolate and vanilla, or in a case like this one add a different texture like cream cheese. I always top red velvet cakes with cream cheese icing, so it made sense to try the technique on a red velvet cake. Red velvet swirl cake. Red velvet swirl cake.

The path to perfect pastry. Back in the kitchen. May 16, 2016. It’s been four months since my last post and to be honest there was a moment when I wasn’t sure if I was going to return to the blog at all. I spent the months of January-February living in Valparaiso, Chile where I enjoyed empanadas, alfajores and delicious locally baked bread. But unfortunately I had an ill-equipped kitchen so I couldn’t recreate any of these treats at home. And also chocolate making through Ecole Chocolate. You are comment...

Chipas | Project Pastry

https://projectpastry.wordpress.com/2016/05/21/chipas

The path to perfect pastry. May 21, 2016. Chipas are small, baked, cheese-flavoured buns that taste very similar to French gougeres. 8211; crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle. They are incredibly popular in Argentina, and can be enjoyed at any time of the day although mostly for either breakfast or a mid-morning snack. We used to pop down to the local baker during breaks from Spanish classes in Bariloche, and grab a batch fresh from the oven. Their main ingredient is. Parmesan cheese, grated.

Mint Oreo Ice Cream. August 11, 2015. Mint Oreo Ice Cream. Recipe for mint Oreo ice cream and it was sublime–creamy, minty-sweet, and with just enough Oreo cookie crumbles in every bite. Cuisinart recommends using fresh mint, however, I went the easier route and used mint extract instead. Don’t judge. I had martinis to drink. Continue reading →. This entry was posted in Ice Cream.
