March | 2011 | My Blog
https://psu8f2.wordpress.com/2011/03
Just another WordPress.com site. Archive for March, 2011. On March 25, 2011. Many of our blogs and speeches have raised the question of whether students get anything from teaching to the test. Bjork (1994) states that the ultimate goal of any form of training or education is its generalisation to other scenarios. Perhaps the best speech to address this was Emily. However, is there a way to speed up the generalisation of information into new contexts? On March 21, 2011. There are and always have been heat...

Potentially this would result in more information being processed in the same amount of time. Loftin (2003) supports this – suggesting that presenting information using more than one sensory modality increases the amount of information that can be processed at any one time. Further, Washburn and Jones (2004) suggest that olfactory information can be processed simultaneously w...If odou...

Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; Limits of dual coding. Sit down, look, listen and learn! However, talk of using the body to aid learning reminded me of my speech a couple of weeks ago on educational kinesiology. The principle behind this technique according to Brain Gym. This basically means that it improved student’s knowledge of their own body, but did not help them learn at all (which is the whole point of the programme). So is it really best to just sit children down, shut them up and mak...

Just another WordPress.com site. March 28, 2011. I was unable to attend the session last week, so have been struggling as to what to do. I have pinned my hopes on waiting for everyone to blog and then for me to pick up from what was said, I never realised until this week, just how relevant and useful the talk sessions are. The talks have so far enabled me to ‘grab hold’ of the concepts which I foolishly thought I could attain from others blogs. WRONG. March 29, 2011 at 1:52 pm. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

After many different ethical methods of improving the learning skills of pupils, I decided to go down a more controversial route… the drugs used for patients of A.D.H.D. Although, back to my point:. Adderall, Ritalin and other stimulant-based ADHD medications are effective in stimulating! My point is, are these types of drugs the way forward to increase learning? At the beginning of the module I focused on topics such as reduced feedback, guided learning and discovery learning and how context effects transfer of learning. Well the answer to that is they are not, they have dreams to become actors, doctors, lawyers ect, however there is little evidence to show they are being cast in many media roles. Now advertising is an extremely important aspect to companies and brands, how else would we know about them? Kim Bayley | Masters Graduate in Clinical Psychology
Masters Graduate in Clinical Psychology. What I have learnt…. April 11, 2011. At the beginning of semester, I was very sceptical and also curious about how this module was going to be successful. I was also a little confused, that a whole module can only be graded and based on BLOGs and BLOGs alone…no exams, no assignments – what was the catch? I would most definitely suggest this module to future third year students and I hope I come across similar teaching techniques in my future within education.
