Serena’s Wedding Toast | rachel & reesa
https://rachelandreesa.wordpress.com/2013/10/17/serenas-wedding-toast
To glance for a moment at the surrounding vision of form and color. Serena’s Wedding Toast. October 17, 2013. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this wedding! Actually, I (like many of you here) may be able to claim the dubious honor of being excited about this wedding before it was for sure going to happen. Actually before there was a couple. Oh dear, possibly before I was technically. Friends with either party? This is because this marriage has been a while. Why does everybody think that? Of that ...

The last post I wrote (or even attempted to write) was July 3, 2013. I’m proud of myself for making it with this post before July 3 of this year. Woohoo! I made a Lenten promise (resolution? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety.”. Here’s what I wrote about it:. Because that even had to happen. Somehow, I had always th...
Awkward…. | rachel & reesa
https://rachelandreesa.wordpress.com/2013/10/15/awkward
To glance for a moment at the surrounding vision of form and color. October 15, 2013. This is kind of awkward. 1 Sorry for being a bad blogger. 2 Second year teaching is so much less stressful, but comes with a much less potent buzz. Which makes it oddly harder. 3 Theater is wonderful and crazy and crazy-making… and sometimes I wonder if it is good or bad for my soul to be involved. Because there are pretty powerful cases for both. 4 Serena got married and I gave a speech and stuff. We both just graduate...

We are all incarnate babies (or I need a freaking nap) | rachel & reesa
https://rachelandreesa.wordpress.com/2013/08/07/we-are-all-incarnate-babies-or-i-need-a-freaking-nap
To glance for a moment at the surrounding vision of form and color. We are all incarnate babies (or I need a freaking nap). August 7, 2013. Remember my posts on humility? Yeah, this is going to be kindof one of those. But with BABIES! So freaking incarnate. I have been known to comment joyfully on this to my friends, for instance: Gee isn’t it awesome that we get to eat and enjoy food for nourishment! We could be photosythethic! Isn’t incarnation grand! 8230; Aren’t you glad to taste these babies? They w...

Thoughts of Brianna: Half a Year, A Whole Life: Day 1
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2012/08/half-year-whole-life-day-1.html
Monday, August 27, 2012. Half a Year, A Whole Life: Day 1. You may have the universe, if I may have Italy. For my fellow Romers, please share your memories- you might recall something I've forgotten! For those who didn't go with me, hopefully you'll get to know a little bit about the city I love. Don't worry, I'll still do posts on things besides Rome. So, join me on a four month journey back in time, to the fall of 2008. We boarded four buses with all of our luggage. We took a long drive past office...

Thoughts of Brianna: Morning routine. Or, I just read Anna Karenina
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2013/09/morning-routine-or-i-just-read-anna.html
Monday, September 9, 2013. Morning routine. Or, I just read Anna Karenina. What do you think of the new blog design? After nearly a year away, I'm so happy to be blogging again! At first wedding planning was taking up all my time, and then it was struggling to budget my time between cooking, reading, cleaning, exercising, Netflix, and quality time with my husband. My morning "routine" consists of me zombie-shuffling into the den and making some acknowledging noise when Colin says good morning. I take...

Thoughts of Brianna: Wandering or Homecoming. Or, Luke Skywalker vs Odysseus
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2013/10/wandering-or-homecoming-or-luke.html
Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Wandering or Homecoming. Or, Luke Skywalker vs Odysseus. Like lots of Internet conversations nowadays, it all started with something Pope Francis said. If you use a Magnificat, you might have read it in the "Day by Day" for October 13. There is a phenomenology of nostalgia, n. Feeling called home, the experience of feeling attracted to what is most proper for us, most consonant with our being." - Jorge Bergoglio. It's synonymous with a "trip down memory lane.". Thoughts of Brianna: Book covers
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2013/09/book-covers.html
Friday, September 27, 2013. Hm, yesterday's #bookphotoaday was actually kind of hard. Although I have tons of books, most of them are from used book stores, which means the covers are brown or green leather. Here's a few I like:. Via Barnes and Noble. I assume this is an accurate portrayal of abbeys. It looks. I love the scribbles in different handwriting and the characters coming up out of the page. You'll have to read it to see why this is descriptive! Plus, the quote from Dylan Thomas is hilarious.

Thoughts of Brianna: Sequels and Remakes
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2013/11/sequels-and-remakes.html
Friday, November 22, 2013. Henry Van Dyke, 19th c. American poet. So, some of you might have heard that they're attempting to make a sequel to one of the greatest movies ever made, It's a Wonderful Life. I wish I lived in a world where they didn't make stupid sequels.". We know that Hollywood does everything they do to make money, but isn't this a new low? Some of you might say, "Well, at least they're not doing a remake.". Hey girl, you want the moon? The qualities of remakes often depend on the viewer'...

Thoughts of Brianna: Weekend Thoughts: Odyssey in Greece
http://thoughtsofbrianna.blogspot.com/2012/10/weekend-thoughts-odyssey-in-greece.html
Sunday, October 21, 2012. Weekend Thoughts: Odyssey in Greece. It is truly a tragedy that Greece has been in such bad shape for the last four years. The country still has so much to give in natural beauty, the study of our mother civilization, and (of course) food! By late afternoon, buses had brought us to Bari, on the eastern coast of Italy. St. Nicholas is buried there in a grand basilica. At twilight we headed onto the ferry Piraeus. I swear that our cabin was right on top of the ship's engines, beca...

It's lots of fun to look at the lists of banned books and see which ones you've read. Everything from Captain Underpants to Fifty Shades of Grey has been "banned." Check it out! Also, found this on Pinterest:. Join me; it should be fun! Here are my first two:. One of my favorite banned books: Madame Bovary. Where I like to read: this is the state of my nightstand. My name is Serena, and I’m a graduate student at the Catholic University of America, studying English. I graduated from the University of Dallas, and I love my alma mater with all my heart. If you know anything about UD, that probably tells you quite a bit right there, but I’ll break it down for those who aren’t yet in the know. How, then, should a life be lived?

Rachel's Circle
Sunday, 4 September 2011. On Dr Rachel Nash: An Address to Senate, May 24, 2011, Thompson Rivers University, Will Garrett-Petts. At last week’s memorial service, the three speakers, Ron Yamauchi (her brother-in-law), Inga Thomson Hilton (her close friend), and Ashok Mathur (her colleague) encapsulated in very personal terms—in language and emotion appropriate for a eulogy—Rachel’s life and impact on others. Ron rehearsed the voices of family members giving testimony to. Rachel graduated from the. With a ...

Trying not to come last, the personal fitness blog of Rachel Andrew
Trying not to come last. I’m 39 years old, a web developer, ex-dancer, mother of a teenager, and a fitness nerd. I took up running about five years ago, having never run before, and so far have run several half marathons and The London Marathon. I started the blog here to chronicle my journey to the London Marathon in 2013, a plan that was delayed to 2014 due to falling and shattering my right elbow. This site is running on Perch. I ran The London Marathon 2014. Read more posts on the blog.

Notice how I have already, at only two days old, learned to get my fists up in a classic pugilist stance, ready to fight off my big brothers.
