tax avoidance | What Liz Saw
https://whatlizsaw.com/tag/tax-avoidance
Liz Cookman – writer, journalist, woman. Tag Archives: tax avoidance. General election 2015: The tax accountant’s view on non-doms and tax avoidance. April 12, 2015. I spoke to a tax accountant from one of the Big Four about tax avoidance ahead of next month’s general election. The election is coming. I said, THE ELECTION IS COMING! Over the years, plenty of politicians and parties have attempted to close this loophole, yet none of them have been successful. Why? To declare account details to HMRC. There...

Liz Cookman – writer, journalist, woman. Category Archives: On Nature. I wrote a piece for the Guardian about vaginas (well, feminine hygiene products). November 26, 2014. I wrote a piece for the lovely Guardian women’s blog about some of the more ridiculous things women have been convinced to do to themselves in the name of fanny-improvement. As always, you can read the original here. Or my original below. Ever worried that your vagina doesn’t smell like soft fruit? Science has long been misappropriated...

Liz Cookman – writer, journalist, woman. Tag Archives: Liz’s writing. I wrote for the Guardian about the silly demonisation of Turkey by Brexiteers. August 25, 2016. Xenophobic, nasty, but the guy who insisted on believing I was Polly Toynbee – as pointed out by several of my friends – did give me a chuckle. The unedited version is below or the shinyer finished product here. The Brexit debate has become an all too real version of the time a woman. Turned a pro-EU leafle. Turkey. I drink to forget? Consid...

Trying not to come last, the personal fitness blog of Rachel Andrew
Trying not to come last. I’m 39 years old, a web developer, ex-dancer, mother of a teenager, and a fitness nerd. I took up running about five years ago, having never run before, and so far have run several half marathons and The London Marathon. I started the blog here to chronicle my journey to the London Marathon in 2013, a plan that was delayed to 2014 due to falling and shattering my right elbow. This site is running on Perch. I ran The London Marathon 2014. Read more posts on the blog.

Hello my name is Rachel Rebecca Gemma Andrews. And I was born on the 5th April 2005. I weighed a respectable 3204 grams, which is 7 pounds and 1 ounce in old money. Notice how I have already, at only two days old, learned to get my fists up in a classic pugilist stance, ready to fight off my big brothers.

Apart from making you want to drown yourself, or at the very least, pack up and turn off all the lights, the funniest line from Michael Lewis’ Vanity Fair article has to be Colm McCarthy’s description of what people thought when former Central Bank regulator Patrick Neary was wheeled out onto Prime Time on October 2008. Who the fuck was that? Is that the fucking guy who is in charge of the money? That’s when everyone panicked. Oh god. You have to laugh… if it wasn’t so tragic that is. February 11, 2011.

The Journey is the Destination
The Journey is the Destination. A blog to keep track of our adventures. From Acadia National Park to Key West. Wednesday, August 22, 2012. On our most recent hiking trip to Baxter State park an idea came to me on my way down the mountain. This was after I had quit- started again- quit again. I had been toying with the idea of a journal for about a year now but in 2012 what's better than writing your own blog? Location: Sturbridge, MA, USA. Baxter State Park 2012. Tuesday was a busy day, I had customer me...
