Ramble On Rose

Ramblings about prairie plants, conservation, and the trials of a clay-filled garden. Thursday, April 23, 2015. I've finished the Breast Cancer Triathlon as of yesterday, April 22nd, 2015! I completed the 33 rounds of radiation, and I am now officially a cancer survivor, not a cancer patient! There's so many emotions! Obviously I'm relieved and overjoyed, but I also feel concerned (is it gone? Will it come back? And a bit disoriented (uh, what do I do now? Tuesday, March 31, 2015. 17 down, 16 to go!

Ramble On Rose: January 2012

http://rambleonrose-rr.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Ramblings about prairie plants, conservation, and the trials of a clay-filled garden. Sunday, January 22, 2012. Flora of Costa Rica. I have been very bad about blogging lately, and part of my excuse is that I recently went on vacation to the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. (This, by the way, is a great way to beat the winter blahs; I highly recommend it.). But at the resort where we stayed, I found lush, manicured landscapes. We also had a chance to see the "transitional" forest at a nearby volcano, w...

http://rambleonrose-rr.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Ramblings about prairie plants, conservation, and the trials of a clay-filled garden. Friday, May 18, 2012. Traveling caused me to miss the official Garden Blogger's Bloom Day for May, hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens. But like gardeners all across America, I am enjoying the explosion of spring blooms! My spring stalwarts, native columbines, are blooming. As are golden alexanders (Zizia aurea). And fellow carrot-family member, Taenidia integerrima. See how similar they look with their yellow umbels?

Ramblings about prairie plants, conservation, and the trials of a clay-filled garden. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Radiation Update: Halfway Home. Today marked the halfway point of my radiation treatments! 17 down, 16 to go! Side effects are still manageable. I have to moisturize the skin all the time but it's not too bad. I'm finding it difficult to rest when the weather is nice and I really want to be out doing stuff! And then there's these: hellebores blooming! April 9, 2015 at 5:16 AM. You May Also Like.

I will probably start my seeds around the second week in March – next month, woohoo! Seashell cosmos - sooo pretty! A pretty mum from last fall. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Ramblings of a knitter, crafter, and full-time grad student. Time ago I purchased the supplies to make beaded stitch markers, but I finally sat down to make some last night. The beads (collected from random places over the years) were attached to the looped half of a toggle clasp, so that they are ‘snag-free.’. I’m gifting these to a fellow knitter, but I will definitely be making more in the future! I mentioned a while back. A couple months ago I used some of it to knit hubby a cabled hat:.
