Random Bike Rides: November 2014
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Tuesday, 18 November 2014. Llansamlet to Mumbles Pier and back. There are lots of reasons for being retired but one good one is that one can choose the good days to go out. Today was a cracker, blue skies and not too cold. However although not too strong we seemed to be against the wind on the outward trip and again on the way back - how does that happen? Route - UK Hills. I told you it was windy. The wild side of Osprey land. Llansamlet to...

Random Bike Rides: January 2014
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Friday, 24 January 2014. 1 Tumble to North Dock 2/ Penclacwydd to Pavilion Cafe. I am falling behind a bit as I forgot to mention our ride on 17th January. With the forecast looking good we decided at short notice to cycle from Tumble to the Discovery Centre at North Dock Llanelli. Just after starting the forecast was clearly wrong as it rained but thankfully not for long and thereafter the it stayed dry and with light winds. Today, 23rd of...

Random Bike Rides: November 2013
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Thursday, 28 November 2013. Coast 2 Coast (Lougher to Swansea Bay). Is this now a weekly ride out - hope so! Paul and I decided on the NCN route 4 from Lougher bridge (dividing point between Scarlets and Ospreys) and down the almost traffic free route to Swansea Bay and then through Mumbles and a planned coffee/tea at Verdi's. Attractive sculpture in Swansea Bay. Friday, 22 November 2013. Cross Hands To Sandy Water and back (Route 47).

Random Bike Rides: Millennium Coast Path
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014/09/millennium-coast-path.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Thursday, 11 September 2014. Paul and I decided a ride on the Millennium Coast Path to include fried egg on toast at the Pavilion Cafe seemed a good idea. We parked at the Wildlife Centre and cycled west passing the North Dock Discovery Centre and on to the Pavilion Cafe. However we had made good progress and cycled on to Burry Port and stopped here near the lighthouse. Breakwater leading from lighthouse. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Random Bike Rides: September 2014
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Chester - Delamere Forest - Guilden Sutton. My son and partner live just outside Chester and luckily my brother-in-law Andy also lives in Chester. The main purpose of my visit was to carry out gardening work at my son`s but I had time off for good behaviour and Saturday was pencilled in for a bike ride with Andy. The plan was to cycle on the Chester Greenway. And then on route NCN 70. And it was very busy. Back o...

Random Bike Rides: March 2014
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Sunday, 16 March 2014. I have a Sustrans leaflet describing a route alongside the Pembrokeshire Coast and it was an itch which needed to be scratched. As the route crosses MOD land where tanks etc practice their art you have to check that they are not active on your chosen day. Usually it is OK at weekends and holiday periods but check the website. Who said mint sauce? It was here a long time ago I experienced a rip tide. I had capsized...

Random Bike Rides: September 2013
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Wednesday, 4 September 2013. Paul and I are gradually ticking off the various traffic free cycling routes in West Wales and today was the trail from Ammanford to Brynamman. If there was one grumble it is the way the council have installed gates which are either not convenient or just impossible to squeeze a bike through - the one at the back of Tescos is an example in point. I understand from Sustrans numerous complaints have been made.

Random Bike Rides: Llansamlet/Ystalyfera/Swansea Bay/Llansamlet
http://randombikerides.blogspot.com/2014/08/llansamletystalyferaswansea.html
The Occasional bike ride, which may become more than occasional. Wednesday, 13 August 2014. With one day left of our boys week I suggested a bike route which Andy had not done. This was NCN43 which links Swansea bay to Ystalyfera. We parked up at the trading estate in Llansamlet and set off heading north to Ystalyfera. As said in previous blogs this is a traffic free route and well worth cycling. The end of a good week of "being outdoors". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
