Bill's blog: Rare Triumph Projects must go

http://rarebits4classics.blogspot.com/2012/10/rare-triumph-projects-must-go.html

Thoughts and frustrations of a Herald enthusiast. Monday, October 15, 2012. Rare Triumph Projects must go. After 11 years renting a storage barn, I will shortly have to move all of my vehicles to new location. With this in mind I've decided to put many of my personal projects and parts up for sale. This includes a Courier Van, a 948 Coupe and 1200 Estate, some details on my Rarebits website here:. It's all located in Wiltshire, close to RAF Lyneham. Posted by Bill Davies @ 1:42 pm. A Stroke of Luck!

Bill's blog: December 2007

http://rarebits4classics.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Thoughts and frustrations of a Herald enthusiast. Thursday, December 20, 2007. Electric Washer Conversion for my Herald. I should soon have one of my Herald 948s back on the road. This one hasn't been in use for some time, and always had trouble with the screen washers. The first picture shows the original type installation, albeit with a non-original knob on the pump. I would prefer something which more closely resembles the original plunger arrangement, but I've not found anything through my suppliers ...

Bill's blog: April 2008

http://rarebits4classics.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Thoughts and frustrations of a Herald enthusiast. Friday, April 18, 2008. Bonnet centre trim clips for Herald and Vitesse! We've been trying to get these made ever since setting up Rarebits. At last we've taken a delivery of a substantial quantity of these, and they are very good indeed! There have been some odd alternatives available on occasion, including reproductions done in mild steel. Our new ones are made from proper spring steel, just like the originals. Bill's blog: Progress in polyurethane!

http://rarebits4classics.blogspot.com/2012/03/progress-in-polyurethane.html

Thoughts and frustrations of a Herald enthusiast. Thursday, March 01, 2012. The biggest limitation I've faced with moulding polyurethane components has been bubbles of gas trapped in the finished components. This has meant quite a high reject rate, itself a big issue with a labour intensive process using expensive materials, while other products which couldn't be successfully moulded at all. Once the polymers are. Mixed, they need to. Posted by Bill Davies @ 7:26 pm. Calne, Wiltshire, United Kingdom.

http://rarebits4classics.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Thoughts and frustrations of a Herald enthusiast. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Since setting up Rarebits nearly five years ago it's frightening how little time I get to spend working with my own cars. My enigmatic Indian built Standard Herald MkIII Companion. Hasn't turned a wheel in the UK since being brought here four years ago. Even worse, my fully roadworthy 1959 Herald Saloon has been parked next to it at the back of the barn for nearly two years! If the weather is good at the weekend I will roll he...

Rust and music: I'm Broken

http://rustandmusic.blogspot.com/2009/04/im-broken.html

Thursday, April 9, 2009. OK, it's a Pantera song, not a disco ditty from the 70's but you get the idea. Last Sunday, the neighbours dog escaped while they were out. While attempting to stop it running madly onto the road, I lost my balance. The result is three broken metatarsus in my left foot. Obviously, seen as how I'm handicapped for the next few weeks, I recieved a parcel for the car :). So I've done what I can with one foot and debatable balance. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Jonys Spit6 Blog: lessons learnt from donnington

http://jonysspit6.blogspot.com/2007/03/lessons-learnt-from-donnington.html

Wednesday, 28 March 2007. Lessons learnt from donnington. Well after suffering fuel surge problems at donno park, i had to set about sorting that out as a priority for mallory park (especialy as they have the longest right hander in british motorsport). But heres how it looks at present:. This shows the fuel tank exit going into the swirl pot via a cut off valve (a must have if you ask me! I also need to drain the tank and replace the fuel pipe between the tank and pot as this is too thin. To try and imp...

http://jonysspit6.blogspot.com/2007/01/things-iv-done-on-car-to-date.html

Friday, 26 January 2007. Things iv done on the car to a date. For the 1st few months i didnt really touch it, just ran it how it was, aprt from playing with timing etc. but had a little spurt recently. 1st off it was installing a new '123 ignition system', since fitting it iv noticed a dramatic change in the engines running and im sure it will give better proformance once I've changed the advance curve, i thoroughly recomend them! And JUST the other day i picked up a set of 5 14" 5 SPOKE REVOLUTIONS!

http://jonysspit6.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Friday, 1 February 2008. Well the 1st major bits for the new engine started coming through last week thanks to james S. Got a piper rally cam 300deg 46-78. Some lovly double springs. And finaly some special 1 piece steel valves. They are all obviosuly for the spit, only cost me under £150 in total so rather pleased! Need to get back to work though before i go spending much more! But certainly putting it into reality though mind and not just an idea which is nice! Thats it for now! View my complete profile.

Saturday, 12 January 2008. Ok so had the dolly now for a couple of weeks and 1st imprssions are great! Well i saw it for sale for not much more than the 1500 and i always had it in the back of my mind that i wanted a sprint it had a few of the extras i wanted! Well as you can see from the pics below the body work is solid, it just has a few dents in it where its rolled off the ramps in the garage and needs the bonnet and boot spraying the same colour and it'll looks ace! And fly off into the distence :D.
