Ravings of a Mad Skeptic: February 2013

http://www.ravingsofamadsceptic.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Ravings of a Mad Skeptic. Tuesday, 26 February 2013. Philosophical skepticism is both a philosophical school of thought and a method that crosses disciplines and cultures. Many skeptics critically examine the meaning systems of their times, and this examination often results in a position of ambiguity or doubt. This skepticism can range from disbelief in contemporary philosophical solutions, to agnosticism, to rejecting the reality of the external world. Posted by Cindy Raymond. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Goodbye | skeptigirl

https://skeptigirl.wordpress.com/2011/09/23/goodbye

Quick Note →. September 23, 2011. Well I haven’t written here in a while and I don’t think I will any time soon. I’ve moved onto other skeptical projects outside of this blog and unfortunately I find that I no longer have time to post here. What would it add? Commenters might show up to either agree (and though that feels good, no offense, but so what? This entry was posted in General. Quick Note →. 2 responses to “ Goodbye. September 23, 2011 at 6:07 PM. November 9, 2012. Comments Off on Quick Note. I have now shut down the blog functionality entirely. I’m still getting the occasional comment notification telling me how wrong I am in one way or another and though I could just turn email notifications off, I’m not thrilled about the idea of letting comments go completely unchecked. So no more comments. The articles will remain (for now) in case people still might like to read them. This entry was posted in General. Nerd of the Week (3).

The Chronicles of Narnia. By C S. Lewis – Take my advice and stop before Book 7. Book 7 was infuriating, but the rest was actually a rather tolerable and enjoyable fantasy book. (I just looked for a link and it turns out I apparently hadn’t blogged about that evil mind-exploding trash that is Book 7. Done and done. By Stephanie Meyer – You can see why I dislike this series in several. So I won’t repeat those reasons here. Beyond Belief: Strange, True Mysteries of the Unknown. One response to “ Books.

I’m the worst blogger ever →. January 9, 2011. Comments Off on BSG Reflections. I just finished re-watching the entire BSG series. My thinking was that maybe watching it a second time would give me a new appreciation for the ending, which I hated the first time around, given that I now had the opportunity to look for details I may have previously missed. It’s just ridiculous. Holy shit, I just figured out the ending. The divine force controlling the universe is the writers! And tagged battlestar galactica.

Newer posts →. Another year, another needless finger to the Christians. December 10, 2010. Pretty much said it all. The latest round of atheist billboards don’t impress me any more than they did last year. Or did I just not catch the Hanukkah sign that makes fun of the Jewish? 8216;Cause we all KNOW that oil lamp thing is a Myth, right? There’s a time and a place for more aggressive tactics, but a promotional billboard is not either. And if not promotional, what is the billboard for? October 11, 2010.

I’m the worst blogger ever. April 10, 2011. Comments Off on (b)Advertising. There’s the occasional ad that will be witty enough. To fool consumers into sharing it around all over the internet, there are well-made ads. That get the point across, there are terrible ads that don’t resonate well with viewers. And there are even ads that change something perfectly acceptable to something racist. Depending on what country it appears in. Ads tell us not only what we want, but who should want it. What’s am...

A 24 year old man riddled a military recruiting station with bullets and then killed four marines and wounded many others at a Chattanooga, Tennessee naval base. The Ravings of An English Nut. Friday, January 1, 2010. So I was digging through my old stuff and I found this practice essay that I really liked. I was supposed to talk about a character that is pulled in opposing directions by conflicting forces in their life, and explain how this contributes to the meaning of the work. I chose Crime and Punishment's Raskolnikov. Tuesday, October 20, 2009. This is the first in a series about themes in the Odyssey. Enjoy! Sunday, October 18, 2009. Wisdom Fades With Age.
