So tired of excuses, of deep meaning philosophies where only showbiz loses. Sep 4th, 2012 at 10:30 AM. I was going to post a big long rant about how angry I am that the UK Borders Agency has revoked London Metropolitan University's right to issue visas, leaving thousands of international students threatened with deportation right before the beginning of term. The The Pequod. Posted pretty much exactly what I think of this decision, so that's OK. One or two extra points:. They were supposed to wither away...

Performance art ramblings - rocket fuel.

Performance art ramblings - rocket fuel. Tue, Sep. 19th, 2006 10:35 am. This journal has been sorely neglected of late amidst all the Backlash stuff - though we're still. Waiting to hear from the organisers, so I'm getting a bit nervous that it's all for nothing or that I've fucked the proposal up. Who I love, without the flying cakes, and with useful plastic gloves. And corsets. It was cool. Tue, Sep. 19th, 2006 11:20 am (UTC). Gosh alex, your entries are becoming way too intellectual for me. :( xx.

Feminist Fightback and the aftermath - rocket fuel. Wed, Oct. 25th, 2006 04:44 pm. Feminist Fightback and the aftermath. We managed to get to SOAS and after running halfway across London looking for an internet café to print my final (though totally unnecessary, as it happened) edit, and another hour of sitting behind the Backlash stall upstairs, it was time for the Sexual Expression. For anyone arsed, here is a pretty accurate rendition of what I said:. Why should that government prevent her from having...

Spartan Race! You'll know at the finish line... - Sally's Journal

You'll know at the finish line. - Sallys Journal. September 2nd, 2013. You'll know at the finish line. So, what do we know at the finish line? I enjoy these sort of things. It was a hugely fun day. My good luck with the weather this summer continues to hold. It was a pretty much perfect day for it - sunny, bright blue skies, if anything a tiny bit too hot, but that was much better than the alternative, and made the 'run into this giant pile of icy mud' bits seem very appealing. Some obstacles are genuine...

There should be a word for this... - Socialism's Orphan Child
http://borusa.livejournal.com/332825.html
There should be a word for this. Sometimes, one is reminded of the limitations of language. Of the words that should exist but don't, and it's hard to find ways to express the concept. First year, juniors. I'm either seven or eight years old. We have a daily "word quiz" - the idea being at the end of the day, the teacher gives us a question and we go away and look it up/find out the answer, overnight. One day, the question was "A quarrel is an argument. what else is it? There needs to be a word for it...
