N@ked Under My Lab Coat: December 2005
http://joolya.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
N@ked Under My Lab Coat. Lab and non-lab-based adventures of a wandering cell biologist. Saturday, December 31, 2005. Hedgehogs In My Bra, Bra, Bra! One in particular was menacing me and I tried to beat it away with a sock. (And then I woke up.). What does that mean? Looking bras. Oh well. After being a big fat consumer all day I felt wiped out and a little gross. I came home and watched. 1) I am not working hard enough! 2) Men suck, especially at Harvard Law School in the early 70s.*. The whole "romance...

notorious apostate: What's the use of arguing?
http://notoriousapostate.blogspot.com/2007/01/whats-use-of-arguing.html
An irreligious being in a religious world. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. What's the use of arguing? The basic problem is that, no matter the competence of an objection, it is always possible to largely save the position objected to by inventing some work around to avoid the problem. Free will and God’s foreknowledge incompatible? Now, I’m not altogether happy with everything I’ve said here but it is a start to thinking about it. Posted by Notorious Apostate @ 12:57 am. Here’s a neat trick to learn if hypocrisy is your friend. If someone is doing something you don’t like, shout, That’s disgusting, it’s completely unnatural! Posted by Notorious Apostate @ 10:27 pm. Requires that you watch a short add to view the article). Among other things he notes that:. Bush and bin Laden are really on the same side: the side of faith and violence against the side of reason and discussion. Posted by Notorious Apostate @ 7:25 pm. Friday, April 22, 2005. http://notoriousapostate.blogspot.com/2005_01_01_archive.html
An irreligious being in a religious world. Friday, January 28, 2005. Is your God in my in-group? Religion seems to have a thousand and one uses. One of them is the equivalent of the old battle standard, which in these modern days of inhuman viciousness is known as an FOF (friend-or-foe) recognition system. The relevant thing for religion is its usefulness as a group recognition signal. Whom are we for? Catholics. Whom are we against? Posted by Notorious Apostate @ 1:28 am. Sunday, January 23, 2005. notorious apostate: What’s forgiveness got to do with it?
http://notoriousapostate.blogspot.com/2007/01/whats-forgiveness-got-to-do-with-it.html
An irreligious being in a religious world. Sunday, January 07, 2007. What’s forgiveness got to do with it? No great surprise. The Archbishop of Warsaw, who had been a communist spy and who, quite brazenly, had just a day earlier wanted to none-the-less retain his post, had a sudden change of heart and decided to resign from the position. Almost definitely after a terse phone-call from the Vatican. As the BBC reports, the episode is an unprecedented embarrassment for the Catholic Church in Poland.
