Tuesday, July 24, 2012. My New Custom Kindle Fire Cover is Even Better than the Last One! Recently I had a run in with a cup of coffee and the coffee won. I was sitting with my dad and a friend trying to get our day started at specialty products show, the lid of the coffee was not secured well (user error) and coffee spilled out. I didn't notice because my purse was on my lap, coffee poured into my purse and all over the contents, including my Kindle Fire Cover. Coffee stained Kindle Fire Cover. This one...

I pinned my creation on Pinterest. And 34 people and counting repinned it! Someone even commented requesting instructions on how to make one. I wasn't prepared to write it up, my crafting isn't always good enough to share but I worked on it and made a few more and think I have created a pretty good pattern. Decorative fabric for outside.

Friday, December 30, 2011. Handmade Kindle Fire Cover. I made this Kindle Fire. Cover after looking for some online and seeing a few I liked but not liking the price. The best one I saw was a Kate Spade teal blue one that is $99 on Amazon. I love it; it seems so Tiffany-esque and Martha Stewart-ish yet has the Kate Spade cute little logo on it. LOVE IT! But, don't love the price. So I thought to myself, can I make one of these? How hard is it? It's a square that folds over. It took me a couple of try's b...

I didn't mean to do this but in trying to decide what to make and what yarn I had I ended up becoming really organized with the help of Evernote. To add each pattern to my "Comfy Crafter" notebook in Evernote. I reviewed the patterns and found a simple dishcloth pattern to work on during the group time, now to find the yarn. To see the note, if you have Everno...

This particular one is 2' x 2'. 2' x 2' plywood. Thickness is up to you. I picked one that was thick enough for nail heads. 2 spools of grosgrain ribbon. Staple gun (I used 5/8 staples). Here is my original fabric bulletin board. Posted by Carolyn Cummins. Links to this post. Friday, April 29, 2011. I made these cus...

Thursday, May 09, 2013. How To: Heating Pad Out of Fat Quarter Quilting Square. After I told a few people I was making neck heating pads. People started giving me ideas on other items I could make, one of my favorite was a skirt type pad where you could wear it when you were having cramps. Not out on the town, just while you were at home, warming the lower back and the tummy. Maybe I'll make one of those next time. On weighted blankets and why they are calming. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Easy to Make Wool Dryer Balls. I got these plastic dryer balls years ago in an effort to be more green and stop buying dryer sheets. I've really liked them, they fluff up the laundry and reduce static without chemicals. One down side to them is they are really loud in the dryer. I recently discovered wool felted dryer balls. I think these are such a great idea! Eco friendly and relatively inexpensive. (And quieter! I found a great blog post at goodmama. New pretty wool dryer balls.
