Relatively Prime

Wednesday, June 2, 2010. A unique take on the BP disaster. Coutland Milloy has an interesting take. On our inability to stop the oil leak in the gulf.  He argues that in our desire to hold someone accountable for this disaster we are failing to hold our selves accountable, that our expecations of what is possible are completely out of sync with reality, and that our inability to fix the leak is also, partially, caused by our own misplaced priorities: . Outrage at anybody other than ourselves, of course.

Relatively Prime: Is our meritocracy working?

http://relativelyprime.blogspot.com/2010/02/is-our-meritocracy-working.html

Friday, February 19, 2010. Is our meritocracy working? David Brooks has an interesting piece. In this mornings New York Times entitled The Power Elite. In it he argues that as our society has become more fair and more meritocratic both the reputation of our chief institutions and their quality has decreased.  As proof he cites public distrust of journalists, bankers and politicians. Friday, June 12, 2009. This album may just be in contention for album of the year. It's everything a great debut album should be. Flawlessly produced, fresh, exciting and definitely full of great beats that will no doubt make driving with the sunroof open a lot more enjoyable. Currently loving track 3- Moth's Wings. The opening keyboards and driving beat just make me want to roll down the windows and celebrate being alive. Monday, June 8, 2009. Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Wednesday, May 13, 2009. To make me...

We often forget that the adventure of finding the answer to a family history question is just as important as finding the answer. Who I have met along the way, what I have learnt in my quest for this answer, even if I don’t end up getting the answer straight away is still, for me, amazing. 3 times I’m still not sure which is correct.
