The Reluctant Empty-Nester
The kids flew the nest! Saturday, October 26, 2013. Now that my children are grown, I still learn from amazing friends who are a little farther along the path I'm embarking on. Being a few years ahead of me in age, they have the experience and wisdom that I lack. I look up to these women, admire them, and thoroughly enjoy their company. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. What should I get everyone for Christmas? Should I make the gifts? If so, what? How do I keep costs down yet not skimp of enjoyment? Yet, I thi...

The Reluctant Equestrian
Sunday, March 14, 2010. I've neglected this space for a while, so let me catch up:. 1 I have a new horse named Music Man. Photos to follow. 2 Kody is doing well. His feet problems turned quite serious but he has found good work as a trail horse, and is happy. 3 We're buying our own farm (shown above)! Number 3 was particularly fun considering a previous post here about not wanting our own horse place. We've changed our mind, though my original cost estimates were right on the money. Reluctant Evangelist
Monday, August 20, 2012. Acts 5:27-32 - We Must Obey God. Peter says, "We must obey God." How would my life be different if I followed these simple words? Although I claim to be a follower of Christ, am I really obeying God in all that I do? Unfortunately, the short answer is no. All too often I let myself be carried away by things that I think I need. My current "need" is an iPhone, because my current Android phone is old and incredibly slow! Tuesday, July 24, 2012. I often find myself surprised when Go...

A Reluctant Exhibitionist
Standing naked in a picture window is a scary thought. Kind of like blogging. Sunday, December 4, 2011. To work through when it comes to growing up. He's a good egg. I am the beneficiary. My example, unfortunately, is to stop baking anything that can't be popped into our oversized toaster oven and make a big joke out of why the real oven is still broken after 25 months. I'm not sure who benefits from my example. Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Wanted: really tall fence. I'm prompted to write on this particula...
