Hoosier Musings on the Road to Emmaus. Friday, December 14, 2012. How long, O Lord? As I write this, my heart aches. I can hardly stand to watch the news coverage- the shooting at a school in Newport, Connecticut. And yet I can't look away. More than 2 dozen people shot and killed at close range. Most were children- small people, 5 to 10 years old, murdered while they sat in their classrooms. A community has been forever wounded, and the pain radiates around the world.
