Country Captures: Long Shot
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2012/01/long-shot.html
Monday, January 09, 2012. 1/250, f8, ISO 100. On a crisp clear January evening it is difficult to fathom that 238,857 miles separates the earth and moon. For centuries people have gazed at our nearest heavenly neighbor while imprisoned on this sphere we call earth. We are told that our astronauts visited here five times between 1969 and 1972. If this is true why have we allowed 39 years to pass without another lunar landing? Been there; done that; got the t-shirt. :). Gorgeous shot, coy! The Art of Elk P...

Country Captures: January 2015

Tuesday, January 27, 2015. When I awoke Monday morning the snow was falling at a rapid pace. I decided that spending the day at the feeders was a more appealing option than driving the slick roads across two mountains to get to the office. The following photos are the best shots of the day. All photos were with a Canon EOS 6D, Canon 600 f4L IS USM. Links to this post. Sunday, January 25, 2015. A Tufted Titmouse poses prettily in the fresh fallen snow. Links to this post. Sunday, May 24, 2015. Muskrats: A Glimpse into Their World. Recently I had to good fortune to locate a family of muskrats in a location that lends itself well to photography. Muskrats are both valued for their warm soft fur and detested for their burrowing that ruins man-made ponds. This family of muskrats are inhabiting a stream where their burrows cause no harm. Country Captures: December 2014
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. 2014, The Last and a First. As 2014 drew to a close today I had the opportunity to photograph three wild turkey gobblers as they sparred with one another. After photographing the turkeys I drove by a stream where I commonly spot mallards during the winter months. I was surprised to see that a pair of pintail males and one female were feeding with the resident mallards. This is the first time I have ever observed pintail ducks in Fulton County Pa! Country Captures: March 2015

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Down on the farm everybody is nose to nose! The spring has brought the wood frogs to the vernal pools to spawn. Nose to nose, this pair seem particularly interested in one another. A pair of young calves pause to nuzzle a moment before returning to cavorting about the pasture. Being ready to capture special moments can make the difference between snapshots and memorable photographs. Links to this post. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Spring Time Creek Sitting. Links to this post. Country Captures: November 2014
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Rut Photography Ends in a Bang. As daylight creeps across the Pennsylvania landscape the sound of gunshots will be heard in the more rural areas. Firearms deer season will open with antlered deer being legal statewide and antlerless being legal in a few management areas. While Monday morning will be the beginning of "deer season" for the firearms hunters it will signal the end of photographing the whitetail rut. Links to this post. Friday, November 28, 2014.
