Rose's Country Cooking!: Sweet Potato Tuna Jacket
http://rosescountrycooking.blogspot.com/2012/07/sweet-potato-tuna-jacket.html
How many people really stick to the exact instructions or ingredients of a recipe? But I have discovered that in changing a few ingredients, or totally omitting one or two things, I'm actually creating something quite different to the 'original' recipe. And if I put them altogether I could end up with my own 'original' recipe book! Here's some of the tweaked recipes, but don't just copy them, make your own tweaks and give it your own name! Then you can publish your own recipe book! Monday, 9 July 2012.

A little East: November 2012
http://rosescountryrose.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 15 November 2012. Lately, while making my bed, I’ve been reminded of a set of books my children had. They were those book-club type books where you pay so much a month and get a book a month in the post. I can only remember a couple of the story books they got. ‘Little 6 o’clock’ was about the number 6 on a town clock who wanted to see the town and so left the clock face but had to be back before the clock hands reached his spot! And yes, it did work! And I admit, so do I! 8211; Ask them to tak...

The Lives and Times of Bella. Bella - a Shiba Inu (? Thursday, 8 August 2013. Cat Encounters of the Bella Kind! A couple of weeks ago while on the last walk of the day, but at the time when all the neighbourhood cats come out to play, Bella lost control, lunged after an unsuspecting kitty, snapped her. Extrastrong, long dog lead specifically designed for large and heavy dog breeds. And chased poor Kitty into a corner. Easy to control and she responded beautifully with no problems. So lunch time off we we...

The Lives & Times of Bella: January 2013
http://livesandtimesofbella.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The Lives and Times of Bella. Bella - a Shiba Inu (? Monday, 21 January 2013. I just like a nice homely fire! So now we're pretty certain our Bella is a Shiba-Inu x. And everyone in the village thinks she's very 'pretty'! They also think she's very good - actually she's still quite shy, which can easily be mistaken for angelic perfection! What people don't know is that in the safety of her own home, behind closed doors, on a cold, snowy, windy day, she's actually . Let's not forget her agility in getting...

A little East: "I'll never tire of this view!"
http://rosescountryrose.blogspot.com/2013/07/ill-never-tire-of-this-view.html
Thursday, 11 July 2013. I'll never tire of this view! As I stood on the pathway at Pin Mill trying to take a photo of the scene before me - with Bella asking impatiently to paddle in the Grindle. 8211; a gentleman slowed down so as not to get in the frame. I thanked him and said, “I’ll never tire of this view” and he could only agree! Even the presence of the big red boat lift in front of the pub didn't seem to scar the landscape! But I did have to get back! Pin Mill Sailing Club. Lives and Times of Bella.

Letters Words and Lines. The Lives and Times of Bella. Bella - a Shiba Inu (? Monday, 21 October 2013. Experiences and Escapes - a catch up. So let’s catch up on Bella’s latest experiences and escapes! It was about the time Bella also realised that there was no pull on her neck and that she was in fact, free! But being well trained, of course, she looked back at Daddy and comforted in his jacketed silhouette, she continued grazing – yep, she grazes, just like the one in this video. Thought it was safe to dart across the field.

A little East: August 2012
http://rosescountryrose.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 11 August 2012. In 1994 our little family moved from Cape Town to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was difficult leaving friends and family to go to a place 1500km from home. To help settle our 10 year old daughter we got a beautiful dog from the local SPCA and because of her golden coat, called her Fudge! Some months later we took over the care of a large Boerbul called Chester, but he proved a handful and we had to give him to someone with lots of space! Now uMgeni SPCA) we found Tess. The fen...
