Running With Purpose

My rudimentary attempts at a blog - who knows where this will go? Saturday, January 17, 2015. We had a busy final day of training with lots of information to share and celebrations to be had. The 3rd day of training began with the groups identifying health care professionals in their community with whom they could share the information they learned. The hope is that they can partner with the professionals in the clinics in educating the people. We did a few role plays to bring the point home. This Zambia...

Running With Purpose: Sunday preparation

http://www.runningwithjeffrey.blogspot.com/2015/01/sunday-preparation.html

My rudimentary attempts at a blog - who knows where this will go? Sunday, January 11, 2015. Today was a day of celebration and preparation. We began the day at church. We shared in singing, prayers and worship. The service ends with everyone greeting each other and shaking hands. As soon as church was over we were greeted by the sinkhani health workers from Malawi. They've been traveling for two days to get here. They were greeted by shouts and singing from their Zambian friends. Last full day in Lusaka.

My rudimentary attempts at a blog - who knows where this will go? Wednesday, January 14, 2015. The important part of the training occurred this second day. Much information was shared with each other and you could tell that these women were thirsty for knowledge. In the morning everyone started with tea and bread. The women all ate in the cookshack which normally is used to feed the students. The fifth grade greeted us with waves and smiles. At lunch time we met the girls who are just starting 7th grade&...

Running With Purpose: Ebola

http://www.runningwithjeffrey.blogspot.com/2015/01/ebola.html

My rudimentary attempts at a blog - who knows where this will go? Monday, January 12, 2015. Currently their risk of contracting Ebola is zero so why do we need to educate them on this topic? After traveling around Africa the past week and listening to officials from the Zambian government as well as our local health workers, I have been made keenly aware of why we should be doing this training. Third, education is the key to responding in a serious, rational way. Without knowledge we make things up&#...

My rudimentary attempts at a blog - who knows where this will go? Tuesday, January 6, 2015. London . in four hours . In the rain. After I arrived in London we took the tube out to see some of the sights. I've only been in London when I was in transit. Today was no different with one exception. This time it was a cold, wet rainy day. I grabbed a couple of pictures, some tastey fish and chips and now I'm ready for flight number two. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Things that are Costumes for the Dopey Challenge 2016. Tuesday, January 10. Since Dopey 2017 just happened I thought it would be fun to #takemeback to when I ran the Dopey Challenge last year (2016) with Celise, Shelly, and Celise's uncle, Dan. I wanted to post what cute costumes we wore and what fun ones we found too. Here are some of the costumes we found. Some were homemade, some were a mix between homemade and bought, and some were bought. Day 1 - Super Heroes. Day 2 - Princesses. With Turquoise skir...

June 20, 2012 · 10:51 am. I was terrified for a good reason. This is what I get for watching movies on Sunday night instead of running. In a more perfect reality, the week’s long run would be long over. But in my present reality, it had yet to begin. I was livid with myself. I felt the pressure of both races approaching and I knew I had to get a long run in soon. Was it “merely a flesh wound? Never put off until tomorrow that which you can do today.
