Run with Jesse

Some people are born with a natural talent for running. I wasn't. Some people are born with a natural talent for running. I wasn't. But I'm living proof that regular Joe's like you and me can go from a 'middle of the pack-er' to a podium finisher with a lot of hard work and dedication! Monday, September 21, 2009. The hard part is over. The greatest part about training for a marathon? Finishing training for a marathon! And you finish a lot sooner than you might think: three weeks before the actual race. Not to mention the six months of base work you might have put in.

What's this got to do with running? Well, this has absolutely nothing to do with running. But I still wanted to mention it on my blog. And it turns out Lee is just a junior in high school. But I'm living proof that regular Joe's like you and me can go from a 'middle of the pack-er' to a podium finisher with a lot of hard work and dedication! Wednesday, August 19, 2009. If I can do it, anyone can. I was just reminiscing today about when I first started dabbling in running two and a half years ago. I started with a two-mile loop around the park three times per week, and man, did I think I was fit! I have a secret.

Greg's Tri Blog: 14 Miles - Feeling Fine

http://krazyfranco.blogspot.com/2009/08/14-miles-feeling-fine.html

Workouts, goals, and race updates. Monday, August 03, 2009. 14 Miles - Feeling Fine. Yesterday was a 14 mile run, and it went really well (except forgetting sunblock). I ran 8:30 pace on the way out, and 8:10 pace on the way back for 1:56 total time. I felt very strong, while also relaxed and comfortable for the whole run. Today, my legs are feeling pretty fresh, only a little sore. I think that may be due to making the COMMITMENT. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Guess my finishing time.

Workouts, goals, and race updates. Sunday, October 18, 2009. 2009 Des Moines Marathon Race Report. The race started in downtown Des Moines at 8 AM. The weather was perfect, about 38 degrees. I left my clothes with my sherpas and got to the start at about 7:50, and snuck in with the 3:10 pace group. Miles 13-18 were pretty uneventful. Some nice, long downhills and flats. We stayed on pace. Mile 18 is when I started to feel fatigued. Imagine that! I couldn't be more pleased with the race. I hit my goal...

Running for a cause. Friday, October 3, 2008. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! Let me first start by saying thank you to all who have supported me in this long journey! It just won't do any good. I've sat and asked myself why I ever agreed to do this. Why would I agree to raise such a large amount of money right before moving across the country? And I can't wait to complete this journey adn run my half marathon through San Francisco! Amazing and so gracious! BTW, watch out D.C. 2010! Monday, September 15, 2008.
