We were on Holiday about 15 years ago on Mull at the Singing Sands, near Kentra when we saw a couple in a double sea kayak come ashore and tootle up the beach to their car. Thursday, 16 January 2014. Whitewater Racing - Barrow3 - 11/Jan/2014. From the following photos it looks like the weather was pretty sunny for a handful of paddlers from RCC who took part in the third wildwater or whitewater race near Barrow-Upon-Soar. Down River Racing is the purist form of Canoe and Kayak Racing in that the paddler is free to find their fastest route down a stretch of water, blending physical conditioning, skill and harmony with the river and their craft, against the clock".

Rutland Canoe Club - club events

The club meets each Sunday around 09:30 at the club hut near the slipway below the Anglian Watersports Centre at Whitwell, Rutland. We aim to be on the water by 10:00 and off the water by approximately 12:00 hrs, or soon thereafter. During the summer (May to October) we offer club members a trip out into the main body of Rutland Water and occasional training and practice sessions. The details of other trips and courses can be found in the club calendar.

The club meets each Sunday around 09:30 (to be on the water for 10:00) near the slipway below the Anglian Watersports Centre (postcode LE15 8BL for GPS users) near Whitwell, Rutland. The club's hut is located in the tree line approximately 30m to the far side of the slipway when looking from the Watersports Centre. Just west of Whitwell on the A606 turn towards the lake following the sign for Rutland Water Whitwell car park. Any enquiries please email us at info@rutlandcanoeclub.org.uk.
