The Sidewinder was MFG Boats' most popular sailboat. Well over 2000 were manufactured. I've seen them as early as 1973 and as late as 1979, but perhaps the range is even greater. There were up to 17 fleets active around the country in the 1970s, and the National Regattas were always well attended. The boat was fast, especially with the optional spinnaker, and a lot of fun to sail. Kick up rudder and centerboard for easy beaching. Weight (all up): 175 lbs. Sail area: 80' main, 37.5 jib.
