Journey to Africa: August 2006
http://racheltoafrica.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 22, 2006. A great adventure in the bush. Okayanother great story for you! We decided one day, since we didn't have our truck, that we would try walking to our village. We were sure we knew the way and figured it couldn't take us too long. So, we left the house bright and early at 7:00 am - stocked with water and other necessities. After about an hour and a half of walking, we began to realize that we were not anywhere that looked familiar! We were definitely lost! We were actually a littl...

http://racheltoafrica.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 19, 2006. Okay everyone - here are some pictures from our trip out east this past week. These are pictures of our new home. Keep in mind, there is still a lot of work to be done on our house - it's still a "fixer-upper! Here is a picture of me (in Fulani clothes) in front of the house. This pile of sticks was in our front yard - don't really know what they are for. Firewood, maybe? This is a picture looking into what will be our kitchen.as you can see, the walls can use some work!

Saturday, December 02, 2006. Faithfulness of the Father. The Lord is Faithful even when we have a lack of Faith. The Lord is calling people to Himself. Between the Thursday and Monday before Rachel and I left for Togo five people in one of the villages we go to received Christ as their personal savior. This is the time for the Fulani to come and He is bringing them and opening hearts to His word. Posted by Melissa @ 6:45 AM. These are some of the bugs that i have found in our home.

Journey to Africa: October 2006
http://racheltoafrica.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 04, 2006. So one night while we were in Niamey, we were driving back to the guesthouse and came to a stop at a red light. We looked over and this was the sight we were met with! These little boys paint themselves up. They are supposed to be representing rabbits (not entirely sure why). They do this during the evenings of Ramadan. At first, we weren't sure what to do - do we laugh at them, do we ignore them? Posted by Rachel @ 11:28 PM. View my complete profile. Pictures of my new home!
