Namaste. – SARAMCEVOY.COM
http://saramcevoy.com/2015/07/22/namaste
A Lifestyle and Creative Writing Blog. I know that lately I haven’t been keeping up with my other morning routines of meditating and visualizing, but I am at least glad to have been “creating” before going on with my day. What can you create for yourself in the morning before you begin your day? Is it written word? A moment of quiet solitude? Create before you consume. I am a writer and a part-time clinician. I live in the woods with my husband and our ginormous dog. View all posts by Sara.

A Lifestyle and Creative Writing Blog. Thank you, and I love you. What else is there to say? On Reading Lao Tzu. 8220;Peace to accept what must be,. To know what endures. In that knowledge is wisdom. Without it, ruin, disorder…. 8230;The body comes to its ending,. But there is nothing to fear.”. As translated by Urusula Le Guin. Though I subscribe to no “ism,” I can see why people are so drawn to them–it’s storytelling, after all. Few pastimes are more comforting. Oh, lately. Where do I begin? Your feeli...

A Lifestyle and Creative Writing Blog. Scroll to bottom for Too Long; Didn’t Read). First, do no harm. Second, accept that you will do harm anyway. Maybe not intentionally–yes, usually not. You are rarely ever acting “against” someone else. You act in your own best interest. This is not “selfish” or “wrong” any more than it is “good.” It’s simply a facet of typical human behavior that you can either accept or ignore. If this just sounds like a bullshit mind game to you–you’re right. It is. Here’s w...

mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter: October 2014
http://mutteringsofamiddleagedcrossfitter.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter. Whoever said "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" never tried CrossFit! I practice to become proficient at . This is easy, right? To practice something tangible is indeed easy. You make the time to do it. CrossFitters do it every time we walk up to a barbell. To practice something intangible is hard. You practice breaking through comfort zone patterns. You practice digging internally to compartmentalize fears and allow the possibilities of your real truths in.

mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter: November 2014

Mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter. Whoever said "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" never tried CrossFit! When new habits become old habits. You changed your old habits that were getting in your way of good health and happiness. It's been over 4 years since I've been living my "new" habits. Better nutrition. Regular and effective workouts. Learning to include 'me' in my prioritization near or at the top of the list, which has been one of the tougher new habits to practice. I move with intent.

http://mutteringsofamiddleagedcrossfitter.blogspot.com/2014/12/no.html
Mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter. Whoever said "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" never tried CrossFit! A few days ago I read an article on toxic people. You should let go of as you head into the new year. The clear realization as I was reading was that to every one of the toxic personalities mentioned, you can just say "no". What do we owe people who are toxic to us? Nothing. We can be kindly indifferent by not engaging. This idea that the only way to be. Be on your way. Move along. I wish I...

Mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter. Whoever said "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" never tried CrossFit! Adaptable: capable of being or becoming. This word has been showing up in many different ways lately. The fact that is has been showing up multiple times is what caught my full attention and directed my thoughts toward what it really means. Being free enough to be adaptable.being 'capable' of becoming.is a benchmark of forward progress. Never mistake adaptability with being fickle. Welcome&...

Mutterings of a middle-aged crossfitter. Whoever said "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" never tried CrossFit! I've been doing a lot of 'cliff diving' lately. I've also been inspired by seeing some people around me do some 'cliff diving' of their own. You know that kind of diving.standing on the edge of challenges, both physical and energetic in nature, mustering up the motivation to take the plunge into self-growth. Reality is that I'm thankful for the moments I'm forced to the edge. Watching other...

For the love of fitness, fiber arts, and food. A true-blood Mainer living and loving life through CrossFit, food, and fiber arts. April 3, 2015. The 5-week competition/slog/drama/party/inspiring saga that is the Crossfit Open (v. 2015 , natch) has come and gone. Differently this year for moi, however, was the intentional and direct approach I took to letting all the internal pressure I usually created … Continue reading →. State of the Union. For the love of fitness, fiber arts, and food. What I Did on My Christmas Vacation →. December 29, 2013. Breathe…in…and out…. I don’t want to dwell too much on everything else I have already said here. Again. I am embarrassed and saddened to claim the truth about this following statement, but after much reflection I can say with confidence that 2013 was the hardest, saddest, and most challenging year of my entire three decades. Compliments that others bestow upon me, so garsh darndit. Can you believe it?
