Monday, 4 July 2011. Summery lemon pasta with chicken. As it is summer now, at least it is possible to find good fresh vegetables and fruits also here in the UK. One of my new flatmates told me about a street market close to where I now live that apparently got good veg and fish, so I really need to check that out soon. Summery lemon pasta with chicken (4-6 portions). 500 g pasta, I used penne. 4 chicken fillets, sliced. 1 tbsp Colman's mustard powder. 05 dl light soy sauce. 3 garlic cloves, pressed.

Wednesday, 28 March 2012. Sigrid Barany - Swedish Masterchef 2012. I am so incredibly happy and proud today, because one my best and oldest friends, Sigrid Barany, has today won Swedish Masterchef! The Swedish Masterchef is similar to British and Australian Masterchef, with amateur cooks competing for the title. It's been fantastic, exhilarating, and nerve wracking seeing my friend on TV, but she's been AMAZING! I can't wait to get her cook book when it comes out in April. The hungry Swede aka Saga.

About broccoli side dishes reminded me of a broccoli dip/spread/sauce I used to do quite frequently last year, and I made it again last weekend. Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time. Waiting. That pretty much sums up my current situation. I’m waiting until May when I once again fly off to London. When I get back I’ll have to wait until July when my beard face comes to Sweden. And then I have to wait another few weeks before we fly to Edinburgh together. They are all such exciting things that are worth longing for but the waiting is torture! And I might have to add another thing to my list of things that will happen far off in the future:.

A note on yeast first of all. In Sweden we pretty much always use fresh yeast. It is readily available in supermarkets and even corner shops. Here in London it is not so easy to get hold of and for years I didn't do much baking as a result of many failures using dried yeast. Thankfully there are now several Swedish food shops in London where you can buy the fresh variety, try here. A Pinch of Salt. 650-850 gms Plain Flour. Zest of 1 Lemon. Zest of 1 Orange. 2 tbsp Mixed Spice. 1 Handful of Raisins.
