OK Counselor's Crossing: Threshhold of testing
http://okcounselorscrossing.blogspot.com/2015/03/threshhold-of-testing.html
My journey as a PreK-12th grade school counselor in a rural school located in the south central part of the US! Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Last week was my week in the elementary. Between that, testing duties, pantry, book club and seeing individual students, it was quite a week! Scholarships are coming in almost one on top of another. This is great, though I'm not sure our students are taking full advantage of the information. We are on our last official college week. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Caring for the Kids: A School Counselor Blog. Let Me Introduce Myself. Monday, December 30, 2013. Students Pick One Word for 2014. We begin by picking our one word and deciding how to incorporate that one word into the board. Next each student is given a small piece of poster board. Vision boards can be illustrated with pictures, photographs, and words. I bring in lots of magazines and let them create to their hearts content. It is usually one of their favorite activities. Some great books on visioning:.

Musings of a Middle School Counselor: Glitter & Gossip
http://musingsofamiddleschoolcounselor.blogspot.com/2013/10/glitter-gossip.html
Musings of a Middle School Counselor. Friday, October 18, 2013. A Glittery Gossip Lesson. Here's a fun and concrete way to teach students about how gossip impacts people. I've used this activity with 5th graders and they really enjoy it. I think it could be easily adapted to other age groups as well. I also like to teach gossip lessons with toothpaste, but this resource helps mix it up, if you're like me and get bored repeating lessons. Warning, this can get a little messy! Since gossip often involves in...
