Yeah, i think. About the actual running, it was good. 9 miles in slightly less than 12 minute pace (but don't quote me because i forgot to start up my watch after a water stop). on a final note, S. Make me gassy. yeah i said it.gassy. so, if ever i forget to buy Gu. Before a training run or a race, and i am forced to go to Walgreen's and buy the beans.don't run behind me. this was your fair warning. Up next: 3, but I’m skipping it. Yep. I could do it, but I’m not gonna. Up next: 3 miles. Some might argue...

Week 4 Day 1. The second half of the night was strength training. push ups, squats, unassisted sit ups, burpees, and crunches. each exercise 20 times, then cycle through with 15, and 10 reps for each exercise on the next two cycles. Tc has a new phrase "it's under the cheese", because of her craptastic day and resultant verbiage, i decided the image above seemed perfect. End of week three. Bootcamp: week 3, day 3. No direct upper body work today. Instead we worked on running endurance. Today was no excep...

I'm a little tired. Lately I've been uninspired to blog. Yeah I know, it's a poor excuse, but it's all I've got. Since I have the day off today here's a little update. Dude, it was way harder this year. I thought it was physically demanding last year, but I was wrong. This year it was harsh. Maybe we had bad luck and chose all the physical chase points, but I think not. tc has a great round up. Of the various points we collected. I must say, Team Strangely Asian rocked it again! Wow, I've improved. I honestly have lost track of the number of weeks and days we've been doing this, but I don't think this assessment was evenly spaced. Anyway, I did improve over the last assessment we did. Here are the details. Sit ups: went from 25 to 27. Push ups: from 29 to 31. Mile run: from 8:08 to 8:00. Bootcamp, week.uhhh six? Bootcamp week 5 day 2. First off, yes i skipped day 3, so i'm posting about day 2. Yeah, so the nagging injury coupled with speed work really didn't please me. Tw won...

7ish, and i felt like crap. Went for 90 minutes or so, at a really slow pace. maybe went 7 miles. Must not take three days off of running again. Must not skip short runs. Must not jump back into a week with a semi-long run. City Chase - Chicago 2007. Since tc wrote a great post about our experience i'll just direct folks to read about our journey on her blog. However, there are a couple of points i'd like to clarify. Glad i just did that on a tuesday night, cuz i need some time off to recover. Friday was...

Just got done running 7.15 miles in 1:08:15.average pace 9:33. I'd love to call it a tempo run, but as tc confirmed, I was just running fast out of the gate and I cant pace myself for shit. Oh, and jc.I am not too old to be out at 10pm running. Saturday was fine. went 13 with the CARA group. my quads were pretty cashed at the end, but everything else was fine. Sunday and Monday were rest days. I just haven't been doing those cross training days like I should be. End of part one ;-). Next: rest day (amen).

Does anyone else's ankle hurt? Despite several months of inactivity, my ankle actually hurts. I haven't done shit since last fall (just before the city chase). I moved, I brewed beer, I worked.but I never worked out. Some day soon I'll give this busted ankle a shot. Here's to hoping it doesn't hurt.and that I'll have some new stuff to post about. . Don't call it a comeback. I ran, yay! For the first time in two months i actually ran. yes, Chicago 2007 turned me off from organized events.but not from running in its entirety. i've not been feeling it lately, but the time, aches, and the pounds started to add up. I went 3 miles in 29:30, not bad for such along "rest". just under 10 minute pace. don't get me wrong, my lungs were burning at mile 1, and my legs ached by mile 2. but i managed to run the full distance anyway. Expect more to come.

The run was short so this post will be too. picked up new shoes, then hit the path with tc. it was fun. she had her new camera with her so we stopped along the way and took pictures. by the end of it we were both pretty beat. the only sad thing about it was the distance.maybe 1.25 miles in all. yeah we're out of shape again.
