Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. Looking for a gym. June 11, 2012. Disaster has struck. I’ve just found out that as well as training volunteers for the Olympics, my gym will be shutting the remainder of the building from the end of the month. That means I have to find a new gym for that period or start running/power walking. I guess even Paralympians even need somewhere to train. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. Ab attack tuesday update. June 6, 2012. So, it’s now time to either increase reps or add another exercise. Guess which I’ve decided to do? Add another exercise of course including the infernal planks.do persevere with them though, they are phenomenal for increasing vote strength. This week let’s keep the same number of reps on last weeks exercises and add one more with two reps. That way the time spent on them shouldn’t increase too much. 2 reps of 10 reps.

Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. Now i have a medical diagnosis what next? May 31, 2012. Two weeks ago I wrote an update post. On my back condition following my MRI scan. This week I went back to the hospital for my follow-up appointment. After waiting 1hr 30 mins I was finally seen (because the receptionist didn’t tell the Physiotherapist that I was there). I was also told not to plan to run a marathon at all. At all! Don’t run a marathon? One thing is for sure, if I don’t defer, I...

Skip to main content. Skip to secondary content. July 8, 2012. British 10k, july 2012. This week I received a sad reminder of my medical state when this came in the post. I paid for a place in run in the British 10k prior to getting a medical diagnosis and being told by the physiotherapist at Guy’s Hospital Sport Injury Clinic that I had to stop running with immediate effect. Sadly I wasn’t able to run today. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). I̵...

I'll aim to keep this post updated as a reference for the surprisingly steady stream of people who arrive here looking for information about beginning running. Do some walking first. Get some good shoes.
