Modern Quilting and Crafting. New Year. New Quilt. New Goal. And a NEW BLOG…. Sometimes projects just take longer then you expect. I participated in an online bee in 2013…received the blocks on time…quilted the blocks using free motion quilting and did each color of block with a different free motion technique to get some practice…Had tons of fun pebble stitching and meandering my way thru the blocks…. I have a goal for 2016. Starting with this new Blog I want to find time to Sew and Blog everyday...

Indigo Threads: January 2015
http://indigothreads.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 08, 2015. Doing a quick post today, as I'm busy getting ready to go to a quilt retreat this weekend. I teased you, in my last post, with mention of a new project that isn't a quilt. I'm learning a new instrument! This is my Christmas present:. My darling husband gave me a soprano ukulele! There is something about a ukulele that just makes people smile. To the internets for on-line classes and help. It's just amazing how much is out there! I'm actually using the same colors of fabrics.

http://indigothreads.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-sisterhood-of-traveling-round-robin.html
Wednesday, June 03, 2015. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Round Robin - Part One. We're almost at the half-way point in this block exchange. I've done 7 blocks, and there are 16 of us in this exchange. I thought you might like to see how things are shaping up so far. You can see my first post about the Traveling Round Robin here. Here's what I've done so far, along with that person's total blocks that were in the passed box. First, here's my block I made for me:. The first block I did was B's. Grin* So f...

Indigo Threads: Decisions, Decisions
http://indigothreads.blogspot.com/2015/02/decisions-decisions.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. My Mystery Quilt fabics. I even had enough of the dragonfly print background fabric as well. Both the wild print and the background fabrics have been in my stash for a few years. I did have to buy the green fabric, but that wasn't a problem. *grin*. My Traveling Round Robin fabrics. You can see the pillowcase I made from this fabric here. The next, hardest decision was which block to make? Nice enough, but not really "it". Not too bad for scraps, huh? Here is the block I decid...
Indigo Threads: July 2014
http://indigothreads.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. Prepare yourself for a change of events in your personal life". The damage total was one pair of completely smashed glasses, a minor sprain of my right hand/wrist and a severe sprain (Level 3, they tell me) of my left ankle/foot. Oh yes, I got a cut on the bridge of my nose from my glasses, scraped my forehead and nose, and got a good size scrape on my upper lip as well. And I'm very upset with myself for doing this too. Can you tell I'm at the whining stage of recovery? But now I'...

Sunday, July 26, 2015. A Little Eye Candy. When I was at the fair last weekend, I managed to get photos of some of the quilts there. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names of the quilters, so I can't give credit like I should. Some of these quilts were made for charity. I love the boxer shorts! A Quilt of Valor, made from a panel. I've been working on various projects lately, and I've made some progress on my long-term black and white quilt. First part of the blocks. The rest of the blocks. I've been tryi...

Finished! | stitchinggrandma

Quilting and Sewing projects and the occasional craft. My projects – quilts and more. August 4, 2015. Log Cabin Cross banner 25×35″. Details on the pattern and construction – here. Project cost was about $40. This was a small project and I only purchased 1 yard of the outer border fabric, and then 1/2 yards of the other fabrics. I might have gotten away with a 1/4 yard purchase, and my favorite Quilt Store would cut 2″ if that is what I wanted! I wanted it to be ready for delivery! 6 thoughts on “ ...
Indigo Threads: Happy Summer!
http://indigothreads.blogspot.com/2015/06/happy-summer.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Summer has finally come to Western Washington - with a vengeance! It has been blazing hot here for days, and it's expected to be like this all week. Today is very nice, the high was only 85* and mostly cloudy, which was nice after yesterday being 92* and blazing sun. It's supposed to heat up all week culminating in 96* on Thursday. Yikes! This last one was made with my smallest hand-dyed and Cherrywood fabric. Scraps, which were left over from this quilt. And nifty Galaxy 6 phones&...

Musings of a Forty-something's sewing and crafting journey, as well as her search for Singer Treadle Sewing Machines. February 2, 2014. Can you recommend a longarm quilter? Reasonable price (cheapest isn't always the best), quick turn around and personal service. Personal as I am turning over a labor of love to a stranger. Well, hopefully not a stranger for long. Thanks for the recommendations! I've got a stack of tops awaiting their loving hands. January 31, 2014. Tweet For Two Quilt Kit. I was watching...
