Wednesday, April 14, 2010. With slight change of plans, we have come back to HCMC several hours early. This has given the students a chance to get one last shop at the local market. Saying that, it seems that some of the staff have run out of money. Overall, this has been a fantastic trip, quite an adventure to see the whole country, from close to the Chinese border, down to Mekong Delta, which borders with Cambodia. Thursday, April 1, 2010. We have had a wonderful day in Hanoi. We have visited the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh - this was an especially incredible experience for the girls who have studied Year 12 History. As one student put it - we have learnt all about him and now we are seeing him! Well we have arrived in beautiful Hoi An - it is very quiet and elegant town, though the quiet has been disrupted a little by 50 odd girls rushing to tailors to get formal dresses made. Halong bay was great very quiet! And relaxing the chinese junk was beautiful and very big not at all what was expected. April 5, 2010 at 9:12 PM. Yay sounds very exciting. Along the way both buses stopped off at HaLong Pearls Shop, one of the shop assistants told us about the difference in Saltwater and Freshwater pearls, as well as how they are made and how you can tell the difference from fake and real pearls. Over the last two days it is amazing to see what all the war has done to the country. SHCS VIETNAM GROUP B1. Monday, April 19, 2010. Some photos of our mascot in the Bangkok airport. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Yesterday, we went on a peaceful boat trip down the Mekong Delta. The Delta was lined with many houses and a church. On the way, we stopped at a candy/souvenir shop. It was amazing watching them make popcorn, which tasted really nice!
