SHCS VIETNAM GROUP A1. Sunday, April 11, 2010. Dani and Sarah in Hoi An :). Started off not so great for a few of us. I (Danaka) was rather ill and was in bed for the first day of adventuring - but no need to worry; us kiwi girls are tough and we are pretty much all back on our feet and right back at it. Hoi An is a beautiful city. Streets are wider, cleaner and quiter which was a breath of fresh air (not litterally ofcourse). Hope you're all enjoying your break. Love Dan and Sez. SHCS VIETNAM GROUP A1. Sunday, April 4, 2010. Kate and Laura's bloggy :). Today we went to an orphanage run by Monks, it was a eye opening experience. All of the children are so happy when they have so little. It made us realize how lucky we are in New Zealand. We played with the children and taught one girl 'ring a ring a rosie'.she loved it! Kate showed the youngsters how to use poi, it may take awhile for them to improve their poi technique as they enjoyed throwing them at each other!

Well we have arrived in beautiful Hoi An - it is very quiet and elegant town, though the quiet has been disrupted a little by 50 odd girls rushing to tailors to get formal dresses made. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. With slight change of plans, we have come back to HCMC several hours early. This has given the students a chance to get one last shop at the local market. Saying that, it seems that some of the staff have run out of money. Overall, this has been a fantastic trip, quite an adventure to see the whole country, from close to the Chinese border, down to Mekong Delta, which borders with Cambodia. The Delta was lined with many houses and a church. On the way, we stopped at a candy/souvenir shop. It was amazing watching them make popcorn, which tasted really nice!
