Paddling Otaku: Damn Lumbersexuals
http://www.paddlingotaku.com/2014/11/damn-lumbersexuals.html
Friday, November 28, 2014. I didn't realize when I posted the Gearjunkie.com. Article about lumbersexuals how big of a thing it was about to become. I didn't realize that it has been written about in Cosmo, Buzzfeed, and many others. I didn't realize that the term Lumbersexuals was coined by Tom Puzak at GearJunkie - despite what urban dictionary says. When I posted it on Facebook - I commented that I was too busy working in the outdoors, to work at looking like I work in the outdoors! I think if you are...

Paddling Otaku: TESTED goes Camping.
http://www.paddlingotaku.com/2014/12/tested-goes-camping.html
Saturday, December 27, 2014. I have learned many great things from this website. Most recently I upgraded to a sortimo case (alright, it is really bosch, but they make sortimo in the US, and the inserts say sortimo) for most of my GoPro gear. It is sensational. At the seven minute mark, they are both right. You should aim for your pack weight to be 1/4 to 1/3 of your body weight. The third host, Norm says go with Ramen, and I think this is a remarkably bad idea. At 16 minutes Will is talking about the le...

Paddling Otaku: A tale of three fleece, and a primaloft jacket
http://www.paddlingotaku.com/2013/02/a-tale-of-three-fleece-and-primaloft.html
Saturday, February 2, 2013. A tale of three fleece, and a primaloft jacket. When I am doing overnight trips from my kayak I get into routines. One of my most consistent routine is the last thing I do before getting into my kayak in the morning, and the first thing I do after getting out of my kayak is take of cold, wet paddling gear and put on a warm, dry fleece. Self care is a very important thing. It worked well, but I wanted something that would do better in the wind. I Decided that it was time fo...

kajakparadis.dk: Jeff Allen t(hr)owbag - alterations # 3
http://kajakparadis.blogspot.com/2014/03/jeff-allen-throwbag-alterations-3.html
Sea kayaking is my main joy. That be for leisure, challenge or skills - sea kayaking adapts to your needs. Preferably in a party of good friends, constantly developing and sparring. Jeff Allen t(hr)owbag - alterations # 3. This is # 3, as you might know there sits a # 1. And a # 2. As it turned out, the split D-ring in the belt, was not quite strong enough. Especially in surf, the bag was always dangling somewhere behind me. Therefore I (reluctantly) installed the quick release buckle instead.

Sail # 3 - 2nd. test. When I saw the weather forecast said some 8-9 m/sec from SW, I thought "This is good. More wind, more waves.
