Researching New Literacies, Learning and Everyday Life. Social Media to Big Media. This last week has been an emotional roller coaster. From tiny acorns great oaks do grow. (And other cliches). After the election my daughter posted on Facebook. About her disappointment and was astonished to see how quickly her post received literally hundreds of shares by people she odes not know. The following day Rosa was asked by The Guardian. May 15th, 2015 at 4:02 pm. Posted in 'widening participation'. Mdash; Built...

Tales From the Bearpit: September 2006
http://talesfromthebearpit.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Tales From the Bearpit. Wednesday, September 06, 2006. Ever had one of those days? Today has not been good. I woke up with a cold. The bookshelves being made for my office, already several weeks late, turned up and were, in the oh so accurate words of our temporary IT technician, 'MFI tat' so have had to be sent back and we are now looking at several more weeks with all my books and files on the Board Room table. I was told the new sign on our playing fields has a spelling mistake. Our wonderful evening ...

Tales From the Bearpit. Tuesday, February 14, 2006. I will not count the days-. They are too few. And man does not understand. The space of time he's in. What matters most is one. More day with you. No hour glass counts time. The way we do.'. So here he is, the romantic that he is, on a balcony overlooking the Sea of Galilee last Easter. Wish I could write poetry like that. Tales From the Bearpit. Saturday, July 30, 2005. From Cuneiform to Smartboards. Now my lack of blogging expertise is frustrating. In this week's THES on page 40 on the lefthand side are two amazingly juxtaposed adverts. One is for people to act as education consultants for (=sell? Interactive whiteboards. the other for a curator of the British Musuem cuneiform collections. Posted by Mary Plain @ 6:08 pm 0 comments. Thursday, July 28, 2005. Originally uploaded by Mary Plain. Digital Beginnings: April 2009
http://digitalbeginnings.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 April 2009. Well I said I wasn't interested in using Twitter but then I saw Martin Waller's Year 2 class tweets. And changed my mind. Of course Martin is ahead of the proposed curriculum changes. In England and will therefore be a beacon of good practice when other primary schools start to tweet. My tweets are here. But as you can see I am only just getting the hang of it and the children in Martin's class are much more accomplished tweeters! Posted by Jackie Marsh. Friday, 24 April 2009.

Digital Beginnings: May 2009
http://digitalbeginnings.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 May 2009. I have been enjoying using Twitter, but am anxious that it is taking time away from blogging. Just as I was thinking this, Joanne posted on her blog. On this very topic! So I am not alone. I have decided to try and follow Guy's. Suggests. These intertextual practices can only lead to more daft 'twittery' names, so how about 'Twogging', or 'Blittering'? Sorry, it must be this playground rhymes project I am involved in.). Posted by Jackie Marsh. Wednesday, 20 May 2009. I don't think...

Digital Beginnings: Join the UGC revolution
http://digitalbeginnings.blogspot.com/2009/06/join-ugc-revolution.html
Monday, 15 June 2009. Join the UGC revolution. Another day, another social networking site for tweenies. ITwixie. Tag line 'join the revolution') is aimed at girls and is certainly less saccharine than some sites that have been developed. However, if you had any doubt about the demographic profile of its key users, then you just have to look at the videos here. A site that users can upload videos in which they lip synch or dance to songs - a little like the site Bedroom TV. Posted by Jackie Marsh. I am b...
