Singapore Kochs

The Kochs' adventures living in Singapore. Saturday, May 8, 2010. Last But Not Least. It’s fitting that the very last guests to visit Singapore before the move back to the US would be Raye’s brother Jack and sister-in-law Laurie. We had been encouraging a visit for some time and were thrilled when it finally happened! In fact, on May 2nd, the same day that we arrived back in Singapore after house hunting in California a second midnight trip was made to Changi to pick up the weary travelers. The best thin...

Singapore Kochs: July 2009

http://singaporekochs.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

The Kochs' adventures living in Singapore. Saturday, July 11, 2009. The Durian Day Tour. Ambivalent. This is one word that you never hear when it comes to durian. The "king of fruits." People pretty much either love them or hate them. Other stinky foods like Limburger cheese, or perhaps things like cigars, invoke the same kind of responses. A short taxi ride got us to the Yio Chu Kang MRT stop. Our first stop was in Gelang Patah. The drive took about 2 hours and took us by countless palm oil plantations,...

Singapore Kochs: January 2010

http://singaporekochs.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

The Kochs' adventures living in Singapore. Friday, January 29, 2010. On January 22 gal pal Alison Fiekowsky arrived in Singapore for a long awaited visit. It was another notch in the belt of adventures together for Alison and Raye which included Paris and ten annual girlfriend trips with 3 other women. This adventure included not only Singapore but also Phuket and for Alison a trip to Vietnam before heading back to the US. The baby elephant was trained and did tricks that you normally think only dogs do.

The Kochs' adventures living in Singapore. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. One of the very special benefits of living overseas is making new friends and then having special adventures with them. Like being invited to the wedding of one of their children. In the Philippines. On a remote island. Interesting folks - so of course we knew this would be an interesting adventure. And we got a bit more than what we bargained for. OFW; Singapore is #9.). And the Trike. The Jeepney is a "Mad Max" looking vehicle...

Singapore Kochs: September 2009

http://singaporekochs.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

The Kochs' adventures living in Singapore. Sunday, September 6, 2009. I've got a way cool entry in my logbook: 9VBOZ WSSL WSSL 1.0 hours dual instruction. It may not look like much to most folks, but it means I've flown a Singapore registered airplane around Singapore. Some things that are interesting: there are more places you can't. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). We relocated from Plano, Texas to live in Singapore from May 2008 to June 2010. View my complete profile.

Follow my Singapore adventures. Monday, January 26, 2015. Last post from Singapore. I just found out I am leaving Singapore! I am not even going "Home! I came here from Clearwater, Florida but I understand my mom, dad and I are going to Florida for only a few weeks and then we are off to Winston Salem, North Carolina. That will be close to my birth place, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee so I get back to a mountainous area with four seasons. What should my new blog be called? How about "NC Kitty? Nah, too boring.
