Musings from an American-Nepali Household. As you are probably aware… I’ve made a commitment to try and learn more Nepali this year than I have previously been able to do. I have finally reached that point of “wow, this is embarrassing, I really want to be able to speak.”. I’ve discussed my language learning frustrations in “ Learning Nepali. 8221; and “ Nepali Bhasha State of Mind. 8221; and have also made a psedo-pact with Gori Girl. About learning language. She has started a forum thread. I feel like ...

Musings from an American-Nepali Household. Newer posts →. Japanese Encephalitis and “Discriminating Against Meat-Eaters…”. May 15, 2012. After pulling out my dusty India journal for the last post. I couldn’t help but skim through a lot of other entries, and I found another story that might be amusing…. Most of you know that I am a vegetarian. I eat eggs and dairy, but no fish or other meats, and I’ve been consistent with this for nearly fifteen years. I’m going to call him “Bob.”. One night at dinner, ab...

Sugar and Spice: Stories by Pumba and Simba . Where in the world is Simba Sandiego? For those of you fortunate enough to watch the amazing “carmen sandiego” show as a kid you’ll understand the title of my post. Oh nostalgia. Loved that show. It seems as if other bloggers tend to go with a “theme” or a topic for each blog post. This is one reason why I haven’t blogged much because usually I just have an array of random thoughts about issues and not just one topic I want to write about. Before he left I qu...

https://pumbaandsimba.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/and-a-book-post
Sugar and Spice: Stories by Pumba and Simba . And a book post :). That being said. I’ve read 17 books so far this year and by far my 2 favorites are “The Disappeared” by Kim Echlin and “The Pleasure Seekers” by Tishani Doshi. Ps I don’t know why wordpress is messing up my paragraphs right now. And not to be a total girl but I don’t really care and I will wait until Simba gets home to let him fix it. Computer issues are definitely his area🙂. Pss One more suggestion! Where in the world is Simba Sandiego?

Sugar and Spice: Stories by Pumba and Simba . Archive August, 2012. Middle of the night nonsensical thoughts and update of sorts. So I just logged in for a rambling session more or less. I appreciate everyone’s supportive comments on my last post and I’m sorry this one is a bit more depressing. Posts like this one are the reason I have been avoiding the blogs for the last few months and here I go adding to the mix….cheers to cheerier posts in the future. A little bit of that too. Sugar and Spice: Stories by Pumba and Simba . Run Run Rudolph….recap part 1 of vacation that almost didn’t happen. First vacation together-part 1. Ha But it really is the imperfections of life where I’m happiest to have him by my side…sorry if that’s cheesy. When Simba sleepily woke me up with a sweet hug and whispering “We should get up and get ready to go” in his cute sleepy voice that suddenly and abruptly changed to an alarmed “Why are you sleeping on my phone? That was basically us as we ran around ...

Thoughts on science, skepticism, history, politics, philosophy, freethinking, rationalism, literature, food, music, movies, family, fatherhood, life and happiness. Sunday, January 12, 2014. So without further fuss. We're not usually this easy-. Usually we would catch. A wave breaking steep and early like that,. We wouldn't fuck, greedily, unhappily. On a first date,. We wouldn't reach for the cigarettes. We carry even though we've quit,. We would have written a better poem,. Alive and not up to the task.
