Show & Tell: January 2010
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 2, 2010. I made a playhouse for all of our grandchildren - in the closet under our stairs. Evie, our 3 year old granddaughter, was enthralled Christmas day when she went on a hunt for our play kitchen and found it behind a door that she had never noticed before. If you come over when Evie is here prepare to be invited to "her house" and remember to duck your head. I've spent more time in this closet in the last week than I did in the 7 years that we have lived here. That's not a hint.

I put it all together with monogramming help from Megan. I love Ellas bedding! Jennifer did such a good job designing it and you did a great job putting it all together. I hope to go meet her soon and see her room all together! March 21, 2011 at 10:18 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Show & Tell: July 2009
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2009. My new header is a picture of the "inspiration board" that hangs above the worktable in my sewing room. I made the board and took the photo, but Megan did the hardest part; she put it on my blog header. Thanx, Babe! Our den for 18 months; since we had brick floors installed. (Not exactly one of those quick redos. I loved the floors but, everything else felt so dark, I wanted to lighten the furniture and accessories. Here are some of the results. I painted, monogrammed. Here is the ...

Show & Tell: March 2011
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. Meg and I have been working on redecorating her girls' room for. a while. Meg has chosen adorable fabrics, curtains, paint colors and accessories and has arranged them all so creatively. I offered to do the sewing and upholstery projects. Her "Relax Chair" was purchased many years before she was born at a yard sale for $5. A little paint and more PBK fabric made it just right for their room. I made the lumbar pillow from a blouse that I bought for $1. It was no longer in style...

Show & Tell: Powder Room Update
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2011/03/powder-room-update.html
Sunday, March 20, 2011. We had a nice vanity in our downstairs powder room but,. We decided to make it a little more sophisticated. This one was recycled by installing it in our daughter's master bathroom. I bought this piece of furniture at a garage sale about 10 years ago. It looks like a chest of drawers but, was originally a clever TV cabinet. The top 3 "drawers" are actually a door that used to lift up and slide back to reveal a space large enough to hold a tube-type television. This is awesome Mom!

Show & Tell: February 2010
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 24, 2010. I found this vintage headboard at one of my favorite antique stores. It was just the thing that I had been looking for to upholster for our guestroom. I chose a silk gingham fabric from Hobby Lobby (on clearance). I want to add one long bolster made of the same fabric. Pictures to come. Attaching it without damaging the headboard. There are even little bits on baby clothes and lamp shades in the Sniglets. Post It is a classic that never goes out of style.

Show & Tell: April 2010
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Richard spent a year excavating and restoring the sprinkler system. He removed chain-link fencing, relocated large brick posts, and installed a fountain as a birthday gift to me. I laid a brick walkway and patio and I shopped for accessories; gates, urns, furniture, ornaments and fountains (almost all were garage sale bargains). Now, you can follow Annie on a tour, she is NOT afraid of my garden. This is an organic garden, as God intended! I use NO pesticides and NO fertilizer!

Show & Tell: Bridgett's Chair
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2011/03/bridgettes-chair.html
Sunday, March 20, 2011. Through Megan. She is an adorable young mother and very talented children's photographer. She asked us to help her find props for photo shoots. We found this fabulous French Bergere at a local antique shop. Meg painted it this playful funky green, Bridgette supplied the fabric, and I reupholstered it. This vintage trim and fringe from my collection brought it all together. Wouldn't you love to have portraits of your babies in this fun chair? Love the way this turned out!

Show & Tell: December 2009
http://nanwilcox.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 2, 2009. I had a shop in Avondale. Said with all the wistfulness of Meryl Streep. In the opening lines of. Out of Africa,. I had a farm in Africa."). Megan and I actually rented a small space in a children's boutique, 3 Chicks, in the Avondale. Shopping district for the past 4 months. We moved out last Monday. It's a great shop in a trendy area but, it didn't work out for us. Oh well, we tried. This is how our original display looked. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
