Punch-Out!! Project: Punch-Out 25th Anniversary Beginnings
http://punchoutproject.blogspot.com/2007/04/punch-out-25th-anniversary-beginnings.html
Punch-Out 25th Anniversary Beginnings. So what the heck was that first post? Well it was just a quick step back in time to when I was twelve and the local arcade and Nintendo Entertainment System were flourishing. After learning about the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator and perusing arcade cabinets other people built from scratch, my first inclination was to recreate the look and feel of that old Punch-Out! http://soda-popinski.blogspot.com/2008/10/finally.html
Friday, October 17, 2008. I will finally update this site and the projects I've completed since the Punch-Out cabinet. I might use this "main" blog to post rambling thoughts now and again on video games in general. Links to the individual project blogs are on the right column. Posted by Soda Popinski. Metroid Project: The Mother Brain
http://metroidproject.blogspot.com/2008/10/mother-brain.html
Tuesday, October 21, 2008. As I was building the Punch-Out! Style arcade cabinet, I had a few ideas for some smaller bar top arcade machines as well. I thought of making an older full size arcade machine and creating a smaller bar top cabinet in its image. Instead, I decided to pay homage to some of the classic NES games I played when I was younger. I thought wouldn't it be neat if the game Metroid had its own cabinet? Click here to read more. From the description of the little video I made for it:.

Punch-Out!! Project: Control Panel
http://punchoutproject.blogspot.com/2007/05/control-panel.html
I made the control panel from the same kind of cheesy Sauder 5/8" mdf/particle board. I found a template on the net for the button spacing. The buttons have about 1/8" inch inbetween them and the buttons are spaced about 3.5" inches from the joystick. I used a 1 1/8" spade drill bit to make the holes for the buttons and the joystick.
