Than one third of my age is. 14 is my age” How old is Ms. The first thing that we do is make a sentence answer…. Ms Enigma is years old. 1/3x - 5= 14. To get ride of our integer we have. 5 to do some. 1/3x – 5 = 14. 1/3x 5 = 14. Now what we do to one side we do to the other. 14 5 = 19. X/3 is the same as saying 1/3. 3 times 19 = x = 57 Ms. Enigma is 57 years old. Our last step is to substitute to check. 2 Mak...

Friday, November 30, 2007. April's 2nd Growing Post. 1What strategies were needed? The strategies that were needed is a ratio table, and you can multiply and divide it. 2How did you use your strategy? I first multiplied the first answer and then for the 3 question I divided and then I times it at the end to get my full answer to my ratio table. 3 Or How could of used these strategies. I could of used the strategies to figure how I got my answers and why I used those strategies to figure out my answers.

Wednesday, October 31, 2007. JR's First Growing Post. First we drew the route of the 60 km bike race. Then we put a legend so you can see where each stop was. 60 represents as 60 km divided by every way (ex. every 4th, 8th and 5th). 1/4 , 60/4 = 15 km. 1/10 , 60/10 =6. 1/5 , 60/5 =12. 1/12 , 1/6 and also 1/3. 1/2 1/6 or 1/3 1/4? 60 represents as 60 minutes in a clock divided by the denominator then add your answers together to get your answer of wich fraction is larger? Example: (1/2) 60/2 = 30 min.

Warner's Wonderings: September 2009

http://warnerswonderings.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Week Six Thing Fourteen. This summer I had the chance to take a class on multimedia tools to use in the classroom. We spent quite a while looking at Voicethread and I loved this tool! I have to admit that the task of leaving a comment on a Voicethread was quite scary. Yesterday I had to make an announcement using our PA system and I nearly paid someone else to make it for me. I hate leaving messages on machines or hearing my voice in any way on a recording. This last week i...

873 Math (2007): Mariya's Scribe Post

http://spmath873.blogspot.com/2008/05/mariyas-scribe-post.html

Monday, May 5, 2008. When Mr. Jerema came in and substitute for Mr. Harbeck, we did some work on algebra. We had to do two questions on a piece of blue sheet that Mr. Jerema gave us and we had to draw a table, describe the recursive pattern, describe the functional pattern and do the algebraic equation. After doing all of that, we had to draw a graph on graph paper. So, the first one we had to do was called Car Repairs. On Car Repairs, Mr. Jerema drew a graph on the board, that looked like this. Melissas...

Wednesday, May 7, 2008. We went over the homework to see if we had any questions about it and solved it together. Then we learned how to solve a 2 Step Equation. Here are the steps:. 1 Isolate the variable. 2 cancel the constant (integer) using its composite to make zero pairs. 3a cancel variable to (1.). 4 Substitute to check. Here is an example:. But, we didn't just learn how to show in that way. We also were shown how to show it by using Algetiles. Here is the example used in class:. Marinas 2nd Scrib...
