Sunset Over The Colorado Rocky Mountains. Photos - June 1, 2007). June 1, 2007. I drove out to the end of Chaffee County Road 337 and wasn't expecting much based on what I saw looking west over the mountains. Soon however, things started to get interesting as seen in the adjacent photo! The clouds began to turn brighter and more orange. The, the views to the south (left) and southwest (right) became interesting. Some of the clouds turned pink and Mt. Princeton. The most colorful moment of tonight's sunset.

My Pictures Over The Collegiate Peaks - March 16, 2007). I was standing in a clear area south of Buena Vista when the sunset began to put on a show over Sheep Mountain, a comparatively modest-sized mountain next to it's 14,000 neighbors of Mt. Princeton and Mt. Yale on each side. ;). Amazingly, the sky to the south bursted in shades of pink and purple! Those mountains way out there are the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Ahhhhh . and then the sky turned all sorts of bright orange horizontal shades!

We arrived west of Gates Pass in the area known as Tucson Mountain Park and hurriedly walked around in the desert trying to find the perfect spot to include some saguaros in our view. The adjacent photo was the best view we could find. Previous Tucson area sunsets:. Perhaps we should have stayed at the spot where I photographed the saguaros above!

I arrived at Cottonwood Pass to photograph the sunset, with particular hopes of capturing the sunset's reflection on the tundra pool just west of the grand overlook. The sunset was on the verge of materializing into something nice, when the light drizzling rain became more intense. Thus, I only captured the adjacent photo and ran back to my car for cover.
