Latest on the flood prevention work. After several delays the path is finally and properly closed by secure metal fencing and even the great British Public will be hard pressed to get through. Out at Carsington Water yesterday, I leaned my bike against a signpost whilst taking photographs which included the bike. Note that the bike is almost vertical and that this is not a very good photograph, so I moved round to get a better shot. As I pressed the button, my bike, for no obvious reason, fell over. Rangers will have received a copy of the latest map of the National Cycle Network, and be as disappointed as I was to see that the City of Derby is apparently "a town", and that it "does not have a railway station".
