our Homeschooling Journey: May 2009

http://teachingtraininglittleones.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 30, 2009. Okay, I am a curriculum-aholic, if there is such a thing. I love looking at curriculum in catalogs and online. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I see all those good books out there to read and use in our homeschool! So, now you may ask, what became of all my curriculum shopping? our Homeschooling Journey: Tot School Week 2

http://teachingtraininglittleones.blogspot.com/2009/08/tot-school-week-2.html

Thursday, August 6, 2009. Tot School Week 2. One thing we enjoyed this week in Tot school. Was to make a "mat man" with the wooden letter pieces that our 4 year old uses to learn her letters. These are sold through Handwriting without Tears to teach letter formation. This activity entertained him for quite some time. You have instant recreation for at least an hour - who needs expensive toys? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Worth taking a look. Preschool activities and crafts.

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Nature - Deficit Disorder". I read an interesting article on the cbmw (Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood) blog. Click here. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Day 3 of 2nd grade. We have completed 3 days of 2nd grade! 1 Having school with a 2nd grader, preschooler, 2 year old, and 14 month old can be akin to shepherding sheep. There is always someone who needs to be pulled back in the pen. 3 Not all babies like to play with baby toys! Monday, July 6, 2009. Getting back in gear.

our Homeschooling Journey: Preschool Week 2

Thursday, August 6, 2009. We are going through ABC Memory Book. With my 4 and almost 3 year old this year. This week was B, and to reinforce the letter we made a B on construction paper and glued dried beans onto it. This helps with small motor skills and letter recognition. our Homeschooling Journey: February 2009

http://teachingtraininglittleones.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. What I Wish I'd Learned in History. One of the big advantages of homeschooling, at least in Alabama, is the freedom to choose your own curriculum. My first grader has been reading about Winston Churchhill with Daddy through a wonderful book called The Happy Warrior. He is fascinated by WWII. And Daddy is happy that he has been able to get out his WWII games from his childhood and play with all the figurines again. 1 The Great Wall of China. 2 Modern Marvels of China. By Willia...

Literacy-chic:Teaching, Training, Blogging. Friday, May 13, 2016. My Latest Declaration of Intended Purpose. Maybe But I have always been so conscious of the relative permanence of the written word that even as a young adolescent, I couldn't write in blank books. When I did, a few months later I ripped out the pages because the sentiments expressed did not seem true or worthy or whatever. This probably makes me odd- one of many things. So what is this blog going to become? Links to this post. I was conce...

Monday, April 27, 2015. All good things.*. I teared up a little, but did not start bawling. Victory? And thus, I become a statistic. One of those 40-50% of teachers who quit in their first five years. As I told multiple people today, it's complicated. One way I've come to summarize it to myself and family and friends is, "I was too tired, too much of the time this year, to feel the love that until now has compensated for the lack of financial compensation.". With the exception of retirement,. I cannot fa...
