https://wisconsinback40.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/pumpkin-pasta-sauce
A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin. This blog has moved →. January 26, 2016. We just roasted the last of our pumpkins. With tons or at least pounds of puree on my hands, I’m looking for something new to do with it. My friend Jenn recommended a recipe from Cooking Light. Which I made the other night and loved. Here’s my slightly modified version:. 8 ounces uncooked fettuccine. 2-4 ounces of rotisserie chicken, chopped. 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh sage, divided. 2 garlic cloves, minced.
No-sugar jam | The Back 40
https://wisconsinback40.wordpress.com/2016/01/18/no-sugar-jam
A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin. Wine and beer, jam & jelly →. January 18, 2016. I got this recipe from my canning teacher, Christina Ward of Kick Out The Jams. 4 cups of fruit (blueberries, strawberries, etc.). 2 tablespoons of bottled lemon juice. 2/3 cup (or 2 boxes) low-sugar pectin. If you use berries, mush them to make sure you have four solid cups. This will not keep as long as regular jam because there’s no sugar to act as a preservative. Click to print (Opens in new window). Salads an...

A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin. No-sugar jam →. January 18, 2016. I’ve been making chicken paprikash for years using a recipe from an old Betty Crocker cookbook. I recently came across an alternative version in Bon Appetit. Which I’ve modified slightly. 1 chicken, cut into 8 pieces (remove skin). 1 thinly sliced onion. 5 teaspoons sweet Hungarian paprika. 1 teaspoon hot smoked Spanish paprika. 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth. 1 cup sour cream. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. https://wisconsinback40.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/buttermilk-biscuits
A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin. Beer and other mustards. Pumpkin pasta sauce →. January 26, 2016. Here are my biscuits, made with the first real buttermilk I’ve ever had. My friend Jenn gave me buttermilk the other day. It’s the first real buttermilk I’ve ever had. I confess, I didn’t know what to do with it, so I did the obvious: I made biscuits. 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 1 teaspoon fine salt. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1 cup cold buttermilk.

the back four
Saturday, May 24, 2008. The Wait for the Euros. I can see no one else has bothered to write up anything on the Champions League final. I will take this as evidence that no one was too impressed. I definitely wasn't. As for underdogs, I won't say. I'm never good at those. I do hope there are some surprises this year. Maybe Romania will do some shocking. Either way, I will be watching a lot of soccer this coming June and that makes me smile. Here's a video to remember to Euro 2004. Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

The Back 40 | A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin.
A food and gardening blog set in Wisconsin. Recipes from favorite cookbooks. Spanish eggs baked with summer vegetables. July 14, 2015. This casserole of baked eggs reminds me of food I had in southern Spain. I did a lot of cooking with my mom on my recent vacation. One night, we made a casserole of baked eggs modeled on a recipe from Joanne Weir’s Weir Cooking in the City. The men didn’t like the dish so much, but it reminded Mom and I of a great trip we took to the south of Spain. 2 cloves garlic, minced.
