the cultivated kitchen

Thursday, March 1, 2012. After a long hiatus during which I (finally) graduated with my master's, I'm back to normal and looking forward to our summer garden. I started our seeds this past weekend and was happy to come home to this little cabbage sprout this afternoon! I started 255 seeds total: the Jersey Wakefield cabbage above, a kaleidoscope pepper mix from Pinetree Garden Seeds. For tips on starting seeds, see my post. Tuesday, September 6, 2011. After this, the possibilities are pretty much endless...

the cultivated kitchen: August 2011

http://thecultivatedkitchen.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Recently I decided to harvest all of the beets growing in my garden. I had been holding out because some of them still looked pretty small, but they hadn't really increased in size in about a month so I just pulled them all. A lot of people don't like beets, but I grew up eating them with my grandmother and have always loved them. They're also extremely good for you. Roasted Beet Salad with Balsamic and Goat Cheese. Any quantity of fresh beets. Place packets directly on the ov...

the cultivated kitchen: March 2011

http://thecultivatedkitchen.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 24, 2011. Once your seeds sprout and grow a bit, it is important to being slowly exposing them to the outdoors. I've been setting mine outside in the sun for at least a couple hours each afternoon this week. I only put them out if the weather is warm and luckily this week it's been nice and sunny. I move them back into the house before the sun goes down. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. I wrote a guest post for Sarah Terry's Stitch Machine Blog. And pick up some sweet accessories! Because they ha...

With these considerations in mind, planning and maintaining your garden can be an extremely fulfilling and delicious experience. You’ll ne...For mor...

All Things Heart Centered. August 2, 2015. Look at this face. How can you. Yes, I know it’s much easier to laugh and love a cartoon character, because frankly being the recipient of someone’s anger can be down right scary.
