Gardening on Vancouver Island. September 11, 2012. A different perspective…. This morning I awoke with a very clear sense of non-purpose. Having gone with two friends yesterday in the medical profession – true helpers – for a day trip, I left my day feeling bereft of meaning in my work. Yes, I garden for others, and while that is beautiful, I thought, and doesn’t bring harm in any way, I mused, I have no deep sense of fulfillment in my work, I concluded. Happy gardening…happy harvest! September 6, 2012.

Gardening on Vancouver Island. How to grow a friend. August 10, 2012. These friendships have either been with us since childhood – though that is extremely rare; though outstanding should they last, or, they have been friendships planted in the building of our years, through parts of our shifts, and have seen us through some pain, joy, or challenges, sitting solidly at the end, waiting with a word of confidence, a hug, and something sweet! These are the kind of friends that we slowly cultivated. Garden i...

Gardening on Vancouver Island. Rule # 1: the girl does the design, decorating and she changes her mind and her furniture and sometimes even what rooms they occupy on whatever whim is present; particularly when, the boy in question, does not decorate, design or otherwise feel that he is able to consult on any matter whatever in the realm of the interior. Period. Andthe girl always has a really good reason for what she’s doing! Yes, she does, even if that reason seems crazy. Period. I have at this point, g...

Gardening on Vancouver Island. Monthly Archives: June 2012. June 29, 2012. The scent of a rose…. Sitting in my library this morning, oh wait, this afternoon, still in my pj’s, I look out at the view and see my lovely Sunrise roses, loaded with blooms and I know why I garden. I take a nice, long breath that happens to be loaded with the soft Orange Creamsicle scent from my prolific plants and I recall the magic of scent. Join 8 other followers. Garden ideas and projects. Friday, 15 August 2014. Toronto / Where We Are Tour /. 2014, Chloe and I boarded our flight en route to Toronto, ready to go explore the city, see some friends, as well as to see the Where We Are tour for two sold out shows at the Rogers Centre. Luckily enough, we chose the perfect time to go to Toronto, having the Where We Are tour in town at the same time as we were. Having been fans of One Direction. And 5 Seconds of Summer. For quite awhile, our excitement was inevitable. You could tell they were bor...

Gardening, with a passion, everyday! Tuesday, October 23, 2012. If I haven't said it before Ill say it again.Fall IS my favorite season! No, it isn't because I love raking leaves constantly for a month straight or.the rain we can get for days at a time either, I rather hate both of them two factors. Its the colors and the different smells.that you don't see at any other time of year. Fall flowers are one way to stretch out the gardening season until the bitter end. Happy Autumn to all! My husband and I ha...

THE EVERYDAY GENTLEMAN | musical musings, collaboration, and sophistication (well, sometimes.)

Musical musings, collaboration, and sophistication (well, sometimes.). July 9, 2014. The Number 8 On Its Side Is…. 8230;A Symbol With No Beginning And No End. A few months ago I embarked upon the latest issue of Velocitylab. That is, issue No 8. I clung to the thought that the number 8 on its side quite remarkably resembles the same iconic symbol of Infinity. No beginning and no end. I considered that would be a great way to bring the latest theme of Velocitylab to life. A Boy Named Medusa. Velocitylab N...
