Twas the night before Christmas Eve and all through the Linkous house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse (we hope! Because we loaded up the car and set out for California! We made it to Vegas around 3:30 am and crashed in beds lovingly made for us by Jody and Co. in their family room. THANK YOU, Jody! We woke up and had a traditional treat from Tom of egg mcmuffins for breakfast before finishing the drive to Temecula.

Monday, August 11, 2014. Long post alert* *. Oh, how I love these people! And for 4.5 glorious days I got to laugh and cry and hike and curl and play games and talk and eat yummy food with them! This summer was the adults (plus sweet baby Tess :)-only reunion. We had everyone except Emily, serving away in South Korea. First item of business: delicious (goat cheese) pizza at an Italian pizzeria downtown, followed by Gourmandise pastries for dessert on Monday evening. The Portuguese-speakers plus Conlon :).

I was giddy for a week leading up to the trip; looking forward to a few days of sleeping in, eating at random times of the day or night, no schedule, no dishes, no diapers, etc, had me absolutely skipping through the days.
