A Letter to my Pro-spanking Friend | themeltingmom

Letting motherhood refine me. A Letter to my Pro-spanking Friend. July 25, 2015. July 26, 2015. I listened to the whole sermon you shared with me. It had some good points for sure! The handful of verses in proverbs haunted me though. It seemed so clear that we are to beat our children. But it seemed so horrible to me. I had to find out what Christian non-spankers thought. Here is what I found. The children proverbs speaks of are at least 12 and older. This is confirmed by Hebrew scholars who think co...

Letting motherhood refine me. I Won’t Regret Love. May 20, 2015. The future is uncertain. My life could end at any moment. With that in mind, it is easier to see what really matters the most in life. I won’t regret smiling, or laughing, or crying. I won’t regret seeing beautiful sights and loved faces. I won’t regret feeling the wind, or smelling flowers. I might regret a hurtful word, or grudge, or rash decision. I might regret causing anyone any pain of any kind. Maya and the Moon. Maya and the Moon.

Letting motherhood refine me. When You Are Upset. March 16, 2015. March 16, 2015. I have learned a lot of good lessons in my first two years of marriage. Recently, I learned what to do when my husband is in a bad mood! He’s not much of a morning person anyways but one day he really woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Everything was just not going his way. He was stressed about a few different things and running late for work and just upset and grumpy all the way around. To my sweet husband and little b...

Letting motherhood refine me. April 23, 2015. Why do I try to prevent getting pregnant sometimes even though I am married and healthy? Are my priorities right? If I “accidentally” got pregnant, wouldn’t I love that baby too? Aren’t the reasons I would avoid pregnancy similar to the reasons some people have abortions? Am I motivated by fear? Is it unwise or irresponsible to have lots of kids? What would my life be like if I chose not to have this little one? What did God intend as far as reproduction goes?

Letting motherhood refine me. Aaron, my husband who lovingly endures listening to all my ideas and gives his input. He is a better husband that I ever imagined. And he’s a good writer too, maybe I’ll get him to write an article one day. Jaxon, our first baby boy. His gentleness and meekness has already taught me so much about life and myself. He is such a happy boy, full of energy and life. He makes me smile every day. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Defin...

Redefining “Me Time” | themeltingmom

Letting motherhood refine me. Redefining “Me Time”. July 15, 2015. This was just for fun. I’m trying to get back into writing poems. And I’m tired and everything is hilarious. Redefining “me time”. Every mom has needs too. But meeting them seems hard to do. With all the other needs around. Alone time for moms cannot always be found. But “me time” doesn’t have to be alone. Before the little ones are grown. Needs can be met in creative ways. Even on very hectic days. Just find something you like to do.

Letting motherhood refine me. August 28, 2015. August 28, 2015. I trust my toddler when he says he is hungry or thirsty. I offer him something to eat or drink as soon as I can. I trust my toddler when he shows me he doesn’t want to sit still any longer and needs some exercise. I trust him when he seems tired or overwhelmed and wants to go home. I trust him when he throws himself on the floor and cries. I believe him and acknowledge that he is upset. I trust that he is worth listening to. August 14, 2015.

Letting motherhood refine me. February 19, 2015. I stepped into your room last night after you were asleep. I watched you breathe. I kissed your forehead gently. You slept so soundly that it did not disturb you. In that moment, I was so overwhelmed by love for you that a few of my tears thumped your pillow. You are so small yet you have grown so much. I’ve done some things right and I’ve made mistakes. I’ve learned from you. I admire you. Fighting and Accepting my Baby Weight. February 11, 2015. Jaxon ha...

Letting motherhood refine me. I love to think. Almost every day I’m thinking about a new topic and I have to keep thinking about it until I decide what I really believe. A question will pop into my head like “Are children always a blessing? 8221; or “What is a sin nature? 8221; I have found that my greatest revelations are inspired by my kids.
