A Fishing Diary by Nathan Walter. Laquo; The Dawning of a New Season. The Wonders of the Wye. Work, work and more work! June 29, 2015 by nathanwalter. Yes that dreaded 4 letter word….work. The bane of many an anglers life I’m sure. Still it pays the bills, as they say. Since then I’ve been working solidly each day and can’t get bankside until next week. On the 6th August I’ve got a shoulder operation that could knock me out for up to 4 months. I could quite easily go mad! Posted in Angling Diary. You are...

Bureboyblog: April 2015

Mostly fishing, mainly North Norfolk. Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Clearing party on the reservoir to take out the lifted algal mat, this device was very successful. Back on the bridge for a clearer look at the massed ranks of chub. 2 barbel in there too. Sunday, 26 April 2015. Chub still massed on the gravels just above the iron bridge and proving quite a draw to walkers and drooling anglers alike. The number of 5lb plus fish is quite staggering, and several are bigger than that. They won't be ther...Finis...

Float, Flight and Flannel: THE STILLWATER - A MIDSUMMER UPDATE
http://floatflightflannel.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-stillwater-midsummer-update.html
Float, Flight and Flannel. Tales of Angling, Birds and the like in the Feldon Landscape. Wednesday, 22 July 2015. THE STILLWATER - A MIDSUMMER UPDATE. Never entirely certain when the seasons end or begin it is with some risk that I entitle this piece as I do, but it feels right. On a personal level my birdwatching has been very much along the lines of my approach to angling over the years in that I have hardly ever knowingly 'twitched' a bird and the vast majority of the time have been, and remain, conte...

http://www.speci-angler.co.uk/2015/01/back-to-barbel-tale-of-three-rivers.html
A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Friday, 2 January 2015. Back to the barbel - A tale of three rivers. The Soar in all its glory. One of two 5lb chub in three trips. One thing I have been doing a bit this year is sticking a small bright "sight blob", for want of a better word, on top of the hair rigged boilie. Carp anglers have been doing this for donkeys years so why not barbel? With the fish returned I finally sat down and made another cast. Again it was only a matter of minutes before ...

Q and A with Martin Bowler. 1) Who do you consider the best angler you have ever had the pleasure to fish with and why? John Wilson, the great all-rounder. Mostly fishing, mainly North Norfolk. Saturday, 29 August 2015. Presentation, presentation, presentation. Spent time talking to one of the publicity shy members who combined modern rig techniques with a very old style presentation using that thick weed to good effect. Neither of us could understand how how the slack line presentation resulted in positive hook ups but it did. Friday, 28 August 2015. Red brick, pan tiles and flint. Not everyone's favourite flower but stunning today. Thursday, 27 August 2015.

The River Angler | A Fishing Diary by Nathan Walter
A Fishing Diary by Nathan Walter. July 26, 2015 by nathanwalter. We visited here during the opening week of the season. Sadly the barbel were still spawning, so things were going to be a little slow, to say the least. Still it was a good opportunity to explore and see how things have changed. Since this first trip we have been back twice and things have certainly changed. However one thing is still the same; it’s a very magical place. Still wild (perhaps a bit too much! 9lb 10oz Kennet Perfection. By now...

February 3, 2013 · 8:27 pm. The Top Albums of 2012. 30 Cold Specks –. I Predict A Graceful Expulsion. As soon as I declare 2012 to be the year of the internet, along comes a record to buck that trend. But it’s true, Cold Specks’. I Predict a Graceful Expulsion. Feels warm and homespun – a far cry from our cold, digital world. Most tracks here build and release like somber and cathartic indie rock, but it’s the bellowing vocals of Al Spx that give the record its distinctive soul. 29 The Men –. Black Emper...
