Thinking ahead to the fruit these blossoms will create with the help of some pollinator friends and envisioning a time when diverse, heritage apple trees thrive- the rare Milwaukee. Varietal included- its been exciting to plant and distribute some of our region's most endangered apple tree varietals this Spring. Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Spinach soaking up some rays. That led me to this. On foraged foods. After a quick onceover today, in my own urban yard, I can find wild garlic mustard (for pesto), purslane and lamb's quarters in the garden (for salads or sauteeing), daylilies (for stuffing with chicken salad), and mulberries (for snacking or baking or canning).all available due to the sun's constant shine. Friday, August 24, 2012. Local Food Movement—changing our landscape. An afternoon tour of Clockshadow's. Rooftop garden in Milwaukee's 5thWard. Racine County Composting Co-op. Racine County Composting Co-op we will be creating a community compost site as well as a Truck Garden. There will be as part of this effort a Farmer's Market to be located in the Tracks 1-5 area of Racine WI. Friday, December 25, 2009. However the eggs they laid will hatch in March at the latest. I can fill with horse dung now and in March be warm enough to put in the worms, then as the wether warms I can put castings in the Mark II we will have built.
