This Old Colonial

A complete gut renovation of an 1860's colonial. Do it yourself and save. Friday, November 27, 2009. This was taken before we started working on the house. The pine was massive and took up too much space in our backyard and shaded my garden. Tuesday, November 3, 2009. We called the guy who removed our radiators to see if he would take down and haul away the garage, but the value of scrap metal has gone down so we had to pay him to take it down. It was the best $80 we spent. Monday, October 19, 2009.

This Old Colonial: November 2008

http://thisoldcolonial.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

A complete gut renovation of an 1860's colonial. Do it yourself and save. Monday, November 3, 2008. This weekend our parents came up and helped us install new floors in the kitchen and living room. Here are some before and after photos. Here's the way the living room looked when we bought the house. 5 months later, it looks about the same. It does have new windows, heating, insulation, plaster, and the linoleum is gone. We love the new floors. Kitchen before and after. Labels: Before and After.

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: January 2015

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Tuesday, January 27, 2015. It's freezing outside. We're also enjoying a massive blizzard. We didn't get as much snow as originally forecasted, but we still had close to two feet of snow dumped on us! I love snow, so I'm enjoying it. They declared a state of emergency yesterday and Tim got to spend a snow day with us. We did a lot of cooking:. We took a lot of pictures with my new 50mm lens! We played, and played, and played some more:. And there was a lot of THIS going on:.

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Happy Birthday to Louise! I love May. I love the warmer weather. I love the brown slowly turning back to green. I LOVE the flowers. The violets that pop up in our yard are one of my favorites! May also is Louise's birthday month! She turned three last weekend! Some of her little buddies were to help celebrate. Notice Louise's princess gown? She kept it on the ENTIRE TIME. Louise insisted on having an "It's my birthday! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Doubl...

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: July 2014

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Monday, July 21, 2014. Tanglewood and Beating the Heat! We headed out to Tanglewood for "Free Family Friday." I spent a lot of time there growing up and was eager to share it with my children. It was a marathon day, but a lot of fun. I didn't get a ton of pictures because I'm learning that going anywhere with 2 kids leaves little time for photography! We checked out the amazing climbing trees in the maze. In the meantime, Louise is taking very good care of her brother! Lucky...

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: New Bedford

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015/07/new-bedford.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Thursday, July 9, 2015. It's been such a busy summer so far. My opinion may not be popular, but I think it's been a beautiful summer so far. Mid-high 70's every day with low humidity and beaming sunshine! We've done so many fun things so far. We met a very friendly butterfly:. We played in sprinkler:. I just had to add a picture of this neat old car! Louise posing with Moby Dick. Dillon for some reason refused to be a part of this. The buildings are so old and beautiful.

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: April 2015

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Friday, April 17, 2015. Easter was a big deal this year. Dillon was SO excited about the Easter bunny. And by so excited, I also mean SO TERRIFIED. We colored eggs in preparation for the bunny to hide. The Easter bunny left footprints all over the house. He seemed to hop right up to where Dillon was sleeping too! Dillon didn't sleep a wink. All night long he kept calling out and saying, "My eyes are open! Will he still COME? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Happy Birthday, GiGi.

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. The kids were so well behaved in the church. It was one of those moments as a parent that you inwardly celebrate afterwards. Lucca and his godfather. Lucca was absolutely adorable. The sweetest family ever:. Louise just LOVES St. Therese apparently. She was such a ham after the ceremony. It was a special day and a happy day spent with the family and extended family. Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Friday, June 13, 2014. After catching her with the makeup al...

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Just in case you were wondering, yes it's true. Your child WILL get sick when they start kindergarten. I thought we were exposed to germs before! I haven't been able to breathe out of my nose since before Halloween! Dillon has had pink eye in both eye and about 1,000 colds. I've had strep throat! Now Louise is sick. Her eye is looking suspiciously pink. Here we go again! They played school with all of their stuffed animals. It was so cute. Louise ...

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: Kindergarten Graduation

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015/07/kindergarten-graduation.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Friday, July 10, 2015. I LOVE taking pictures on the first AND last day of school. When you see kids everyday it's hard to see just how much they grow. Dillon looked like a baby on his first day! He's such a BIG KID now! Dillon's kindergarten graduation was adorable. They sang "You are my Sunshine" and Dillon even got a little certificate. We were proud parents! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Stirrings from the empty nest. When you laugh instead of cry.

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: February 2015

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. You'll never guess what's going on in Massachusetts! Those are our mail boxes. Since this picture was taken we've received MORE snow. The mailboxes are now completely buried. My mail comes out of a hole in a snow bank. I'm not kidding. I can't even raise the flag for outgoing mail. Some of us don't mind the snow all that much. I should say that some of us don't mind lying in the snow while Mommy takes pictures of them. We had this great idea tha...

Lucky Charms and May Flowers: December 2014

http://ourluckycharm.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Lucky Charms and May Flowers. Monday, December 29, 2014. Hard to believe Christmas is over! I'm actually sad to see it go this year. With the kids getting older, I feel like we are able to enjoy so much more about the Christmas season. It's amazing to see it through their eyes. We had Christmas Eve at our house. Grammy, Uncle Brian, Memere, and Aunt Emilie came to celebrate. After some present opening and some delicious cinnamon buns made by Grammy, we headed out to the Berkshires for Christmas Day.

MS SQL Server and Those Pesky NULLs. So I’m working on a Rails application with a MS SQL. Server 2005 back-end. The application needs to access the Dynamics GP data stored on that server, and while I could have other tables (users, sessions, etc) stored separately in, say MySQL, I elected to keep them all together, at least for the time being. (I’ll detail the steps I used to get unixODBC. Installed and working on OpenBSD 4.2. In another post. In the meantime, this is the Rails wiki article. Met my needs...

Cultivating this Old House

Monday, July 18, 2011. Long time Entryway Remodel. When we bought this house five years ago it had been owned by ex military persons and. As in just about every room, layers upon layers of wallpaper had been painted over. The floor was checkerboard linoleum. So, being newly pregnant and nesting with our sweet Addie, I decided to first rid myself of the floor and crossed my fingers that underneath this 120 yr old portion of the house would lie something exciting - wood or tile was my hope. I used the old ...
