Trails and Tales: May 2010

Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Thursday, May 27, 2010. This is a good opening shot for this sequence of photos, my trip this year certainly included many happy hours in the woods and waters of this unspoiled region. This year I met and stayed with some wonderful new friends, they live here on top of one of the areas most beautiful and scenic mountains. I had the unique experience of joining up with a local movement to blaze a new area...

Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Wednesday, June 02, 2010. What a beautiful time of the year, the birds, the bees, the flowers, oh my! It's not just the birds that are nesting and laying their eggs. How about this Stegosaurus wannabe! Yeah the birds are nesting too this time of year, I almost passed this nest by without a look inside. Not sure if this Woodcock is nesting but I was happy to share the trail on this sunny morning.

Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Sunday, August 23, 2009. New Chicks are here! The Breed is Buff Orpingtons they are gentle giants suposed to be cold weather hardy and lay lots of big brown eggs. One reason they are good in the cold is that they have very dense feathering which is already in evidence. Once they grow up a little they will join the laying flock next door. Saturday, August 22, 2009. Time for an update on the garden.

Psalm 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. Monday, December 28, 2009. We headed down to the lake shore and took advantage. Of the unique conditions created by the mix of sunlight and ice. Make your own fun! Sandwiched in between Christmas and Boxing day is the feast of Kuksa. A day set aside to show our appreciation. For the lowly but useful cup. The best way to gain a full knowledge of this common but extremely important. Time for an update on o...

Feathers and Fur: August 2010

http://feathersandfur.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Fly Fishing, Fly Tying, and Favorite Places. "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 4:19. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Tracy and I did a little night fishing and caught a few small trout. Saturday found us in the diversion channel in the Second Honeymoon where we found these reds and a flounder. As the wedding was rapidly approaching we headed to Kansas where Regan took Matt and I to the Marshall family fishing hole. Everyone caught fish but me! Snapping turtle seen on the road to Palacios.

Trails (and Trials)

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Some might remember this pretty view from the Cache Creek endurance ride this spring:. Sadly, the Rocky fire trampled through here in the last couple weeks, leaving 69,000 charred acres. I. Drove through the area when the highway reopened, coming back from a short vacation. I thought I'd be ok, fire is such a fact of life here. I'm looking at my trails a little more carefully right now. Taking more mental pictures, remembering. Just in case. Friday, July 31, 2015.
